did't cooper get fired for not being able to win ? tressel,s sucess in the beginning was with cooper's recruits,,,,,,,,,,time to send tressel elsewhere

Yes, Tressel made some very bad decisions, take a delay of game instead of a field goal? Stupid! Not letting Pryor run with the ball more, Stupid!! The game didn't end the way we wanted it to but we are a young team and at least this year we came and played the game hard!!! Yeah, we lost it in the last quarter but at least we showed promise the first 3. I am a buckeye fan through and through and will not stop supporting my team over a loss that was hard fought!!!

Early in the 4th quarter, you had to feel this coming. OSU tightened up. Pryor, we might have to debate, just doesn't have the instincts on the field to be a premier QB. Most of the posts I have read say that Tressel plays to not lose the game. I am sorry to say that is a fairly accurate statement. Pete was going for it on 4th down every time I looked.
Even if Tressel does loosen up offensively, it will be against a unworthy opponent and it will be to placate the fans. The moment the heat turns up, he will have to revert to playing position and holding a lead.
I like Coach Tressel. He is an upstanding piece of OSU. We will never have to worry about controversy. But right now... I need some brimstone and fire in my Coach. I need a gambler. I want to walk away from a loss with my chin up because we played for the win.
I am curious to see the fallout from this game. If OSU doesn't make a move to deal with this while it is fresh in our minds, we will be playing this way next season...watch and see.

no offense identity

Thanks to the osu defense for showing up and making a game of it.The offense has no identity - it seems the play calling is random & doesn`t consider down & distance & when to give up on whats not working.USC fans don`t get to excited about beating an average BIG TEN team.

The Defense needs to take the O to the woodshed for a good ass whipping. They played a heck of a game.

Every first down we run up the middle. How many times do you do that before we can fool the other team? Tressel is paid millions of dollars for this kind of play calling. We were the better team. We had the better kids on the field. We were winning the entire game until the last minutes. It wasn’t because they were the better team. The better team lost because there coach doesn’t have a clue of how to call plays. I feel sorry for our players. They deserve a better coach!

The USC QB showed a lot of poise and maturity for a freshman. On the other hand, Pryor came off sullen and immature when calls did not go his way- he acts like a crybaby. No question Carrol outcoached Tressel- but Tressel is always outcoached in these big games. McKnight is a hell of a runner and way better than anything OSU has. USC deserved the victory- they're the better team- period...Jim, Columbus

The better team lost due to play calling(Thanks Tressel). The game never should have been that close. When USC had the ball first and goal from the 2, they took 4 plays but left with a touchdown. OSU had the same thing, but after poor play calling we left with only 3. Also, I don't think it takes a genius to know that when you've got a 5 point lead on a good team and your in field goal range (even long field goal range) you should try for it to make sure you can't lose with if the other team scores a touchdown (especially when your kicker has the leg for it)

I admit I'm not a OSU fan, never have been and never will be. It's mainly due to the fans and their desire to fire the coach whenever they lose. I've seen it since 1985 and once again I see it today. Face it OSU has been over-rated the past few seasons just like the big ten has. Be proud of how your team played today and be happy they will win at least 8 games every year. Not every collage fan can say that about their team. You can not win every game every season. Tressel is a good coach and you should be lucky you have him. If you keep on firing coaches who win 9 to 10 games a season no good coach is going to want to coach here and you'll end up with a second rate coach.

As a Canes fan, I feel that the only thing more satisfying than a Canes win is a Buckeyes loss.

Way to go, USC!!

It was a good game, to be honest I was shocked at how well OSU played. They gave USC a run for their money.(had me worried there for a bit)
But face it boys and girls, the Buckeyes are not all that... and the Trojans are awesome.

PS
Their band is way better too.
