Mark Sanchez could become draft's top quarterback

That Georgia's Matthew Stafford will be the first quarterback taken in the April draft has gone from assumption to gospel in the minds of some. Read more

Mark Sanchez scares the beejezus out of me. I don't think he's a first round talent and he's only the second best QB available because so many guys decided to stay for their senior years and the talent AFTER Sanchez is near non existant.

Overall I think it's a bad year for QBs and the Bears should shockingly stay away from this year's crop of signal callers.

your right about him being the second best qb in this years draft. stafford is the much better qb and was the the second best qb in college last year with only bradford being ahead of him.

Stafford isn't a much better qb than
Sanchez. Stafford has a slightly stronger arm but lacks the ability to consistently make a good throw when the play breaks down. He is nothing special against pressure as his mobility is nothing to write home about. The reason the scouts are considering him a better prospect is his talents translate to the pro game better than Stafford's does. Why is he(or his agents) afraid to throw at the combine? He knows under more intense scrutiny he is going to fall a few notches. The only reason Sanchez started fewer games is because he went to a school that recruits real QB's.

if Bears play this right, they'll get the kid out of Kansas State, but not with the first round pick.

also, if we do draft a QB, who goes away???

Either we are set on Haynie or not; drafting a QB just to draft one doesn't male sense either.

Signing the Northwestern QB from a few years ago, is he bubble material?
or someone the Bears felt could start?

To be honest, I am confused by Angelo on this one. Maybe Orton is out the door? And then you think, what? we groomed another player for someone else?

What we really need is a guru of a QB coach. One that can teach the position better. Orton has not shown me much as far as "getting better" as he played. He locks on, why?

I understand Lovie is all fired up in coaches meetings currently. For good reason, these new coaches are pointed out to Lovie how teams figured out to beat his defense.

The truth has Lovie seeing his errors.

Let's hope we fill some of these holes so we can win our (weak) division next year.

If Crabtree or Robiske are not there at the eighteenth pick, pick a lineman then trade up to go early second round to pick PAT WHITE! Senior Bowl MVP and great first day at the combine. He can play receiver and QB. Great athlete and high IQ!

What is the love affair with Mark Sanchez? Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Sanchez is not better than either Tebow or Bradford or Stafford. He is not as good as either Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco, hell he's not as good as John David Booty.

Sanchez is the benefit of supply and demand. The demand for QBs in the first round is high and the supply is crappy. If all of the aforementioned prospects came out at the same time....Sanchez would be the worst of those prospects

Does it really matter which 6' 2" quarterback, who can't see over NFL sized offensive lineman, is the top QB pick in the draft? Sanchez threw - and received mixed reviews. Stafford didn't - and would have received the same. What does all this have to do with the price of tea in China? If someone wants to waste $30M guaranteed on a QB, then take Cassel.

No, not at all. I'm not being sarcastic. I really do mean it, he's like the hottest guy I've ever seen. But I know what you mean about people on this site. Pretty ignorant, sometimes.

hes going to be an amazing reciever in the nfl. may not be in his rookie year, but he will be great by the end of his career. he is hands down the best reciever in the draft. hopefully the ankle surgery doesnt hurt his level of play.
