Blame it ALL on Vernon Gholston... Seems every time they lose it's because of how bad Gholston is and how much he needs to improve... GIVE ME A BREAK!

You thought it would be a walk in the park and you got your ass handed to you.

I think we need to improve our QB situation. We are getting Penington-like production with a better team than we ever had with Pennington here, yet nobody is writing about how we are limited by a QB who can't throw deep...

You can talk all you want about the 14 points Denver scored off the two turnovers, and everything else that went wrong, for me having the ball on Denver's 46 yd line with a 3rd and 1, knowing you have two plays to get that first down with the AFC's leading rusher and a front line that has been dominant for most of the year, and NOT getting the first down because of play calling, that can only be descripted as horrendous on any level of football, answers any questions as to why they lost. Get that first down and just kick a field goal and get within one score and the games the Jets. Horrible playcalling and even worse execution.

Do you think the Jets would be 8-4 in and in first place if Chad was here? I will answer the question for you...ABSOLUTELY NOT. Sunday's loss was just poor execuiton which happens, but also horrible play calling. Those 4th down plays should have been draws given to Thomas Jones.
They should have an easy time against the 49ers. Let us see.

Favre has experience and savvy that'll take Chad years to acquire.

Do you think that Chad was able to make the quick, onfiled changes that Favre can (and did)?

Brett Favre has united a team, added insight into play and has a better passing arm.

It might be his one and only year with the Jets, but this is their best showing in a decade. Get real...putz.

If Jets lose to SF season's over, period. NE will win and be tied w/Jets for 1st and Miami may be as well. It was refreshing to see Mangini behave as if he was a real person and not a robot like he has seemed to be, and take the loss personally. A team takes on the personality of it's coach, so Mangini better morph into Belichick or Parcells for the playoff drive or Jets will be D.O.A as so will his head coaching career.

Please dump Ty Law and David Barritt. A former great player who just doesn't have the speed, and a never was any good player.

Pennington is 7-5 on a team with less talent than the Jets. So Yes, I think he would be 8-4 with the team the Jets have assembled.

Favre having more savvy and being more adept at making changes than Chad is laughable. This Jets offense has been reduced to Madden 93 level for Brett. He is anything but savvy. Savvy is not eluding a blitzing LB and chucking the ball 50 yards and hoping someone catches it. Savvy is changing a play at the line and knowing where everyone on the field is going to be. Those are not Favre's strong point. He's lost his fastball and now has nothing.

The Jets will have an easy time agains the Niners like they had an easy time against the Raiders, Chiefs, and Broncos right?

Everyone calling for running plays: I just want to make sure you were not the same people calling for Favre to be throwing against the Pats earlier in the season on the goal line. That wasn't you guys saying that, right?

You're an idiot.
Pennington couldn't make 1/3 of the throws Favre does because he has no arm at all. I'm well over 55 and I can throw harder than Pennington. Favre runs what Schottenhimer calls, most of which does not utilize his QB to his full potential.
You probably root for the Mets too!

What throw has Favre made that has been so amazing this year?

Schottenheimer doesn't call anything to utilize Brett's potential, because Brett's potential has come and gone. He is on the downside. He is not as good physically and he hasn't gotten any smarter.

The coaches are limited by his lack of understanding of the offense. The plays have been reduced to "Keller, take seven steps and turn around. Cotchery, give me a slant. Laveranues, go deep and draw some coverage with you because I won't be able to reach anyway"

Maybe when Brett was 30, he made some good throws. Also plenty of bad ones. Now, in 2008, on the Jets, he can't make those throws. They end up in the hands of Dre Bly and Cortland Finnegan more often than they end up in the hands of Coles and Cotchery.

brettblows - theres no arguing with somebody as dumb as yourself. You give all Jets fans a bad rap. LET ME REITERATE - YOU ARE A F*CKING IDIOT!!! Favre still has it. Stop jumping on him because he had one bad game in pouring rain and shit weather against a good pass defense team after 5 straight wins.

On Mangini:
I have posted before that I was not as quick to jump on the "Mangenius" bandwagon as most others but I feel good reading that he is ticked off at team and staff after this game. They seemed out-coached on this one. But let's consider that they faced 3 of the very best coaches in the AFC these past 3 games and won 2. So we expected to take the one at home after two road wins but didn't. All in all Mangini has had a good season so far.
On Favre:
I am convinced that Chad would be doing well with this Jets lineup...but...Favre gets a hell of a lot more touchdowns in the redzone than any of us Chad fans could recall. There is no real way to tell if Chad would be 8-4 but you have to give Favre credit for TD vs.of FG ratio. He may not throw as good a fastball as he used to but Favre still looks like he keeps defenses a little back on their heels. Chad rarely did. It's actually a testament to Chad's other skills that he is as effective as he is.
On the defense:
Over-rated. You can't put blame (Denver game) on secondary when Cutler has 10 seconds each pass to survey the field. Pass rush non-existent and to top it all they could not tackle a slow fullback. Not a BAD defensive team but not much better than good.
