well anywho::: good job shiprock boys u deserve the win... we packed the lil gym and took over their house!!!
Good luck to the team
very dissapointed with the local paper this was a big game and they didnt post any pictures... everytime shiprock wins a big win they put shiprock in the back while other locals sports get the front and that is nothing BIG!!!
Get good officials!!!

The Chieftians did a great job in winning the game on Friday, despite the officials not making consistent calls. I understand that the officials have to call what they see, but it seemed to me that on Friday the fouls was lopsided with Shiprock having more fouls than Piedra Vista. Officials need to remember there are two teams playing and they need to officiate fairly. Congratulations to the boys for a great win and for working together as a team. Thank you fans for your support.
That is the problem, when SHS wins it is because they beat the refs and not the team they played and when they lose you blame the refs! How come it can't just be SHS wins because they were better that night, and stop blaming the refs. I am not sure if you know this but rarely at the end of a game does the foul count end up exactly even, thus 99% of the time one team has more fouls than the other! Now if SHS has less fouls come Thursday against KC or Aztec, does that mean they cheated and there for we should blame the refs once again? Come on -

Why anybody but Shiprock? They seem to being playing the best. They have 9 players that can defend, score, and they work as a team, at least from what I saw on friday. So, why not them?

if the official were to call the game fairly and not pick one team, the games would be more enjoyable and the refs would not be to blame.

What do you consider fair? As in even foul counts? As in even number of free-throws attempted? As in even number of technicals for each team? As in.......what? IT IS A BASKETBALL GAME DECIDED BY COACHES AND PLAYERS, STOP BLAMING THE REFS!!!!!!! THEY DON'T MISS FREE-THROW, THEY DON'T HAVE TURNOVERS, AND THEY DON'T CALL PLAYS OR HALFTIME ADJUSTMENTS.

Even if the game was called fairly....the refs will still be blamed for something. You have to keep in mind there are only 3 refs and 10 players on the court. There is only so much a ref can do out there.

Here in Oklahoma....the fans do the same thing back home...blame the refs for something. The only difference I see...in Oklahoma the refs don't put up with insults from coaches, players, or fans....if they hear an insult, the refs automatically issue a techinical foul. If it's a fan, the refs throw them out. I attended a rivarly game between Union High School and Jenks High School, and in that game alone....4 techinicals were issued (2 of the techinicals were issued to both head coaches) and fans were thrown out. Maybe the refs back home need to do something like this.

What I am trying to say is no matter where you go....the refs will always be blamed.

The game was awesome!!! Such teamwork, running the ball up the court, and a tenacious defense. Great coaching skills too. GO CHIEFTAINS!!!!
