And then there were four ... Bucs release Simms
Quarterback Chris Simms got what he was wishing for months ago . Heck, what he wished for at the start of training camp.

Gruden is an axs!!!!!!!!! He planned to do this all along.
Now it makes it harder for Chris Simms to hook up with another team and learn the playbook.
THIS is why I hate Jon Gruden!!! It's not that I'm a Simms fan. It's that the league is full of players that say Gruden is a lousy person.
I can't wait until he disappears from Tampa!!!!!!
Gruden is lower than whale's doo doo!!!!!

Gruden's ruthlessness makes it hard to be a Bucs fan. I'm sick of his Nepoleon ego. The lil' midget in a man's league is a loser!!!!
Until Bucs fans realize this guy is running the Bucs into the ground, they are going no where!!!!

The Glazers just gave Gruden a new contract even though he has a losing record since winning the Super Bowl so Gruden is not going anywhere. What I would like to know is when was the last time a team that ran a west coast style offense won the Super Bowl? To watch the Bucs play offensively is rather boring.

I can't imagine they kept 2 old QB's and let go of a future Pro bowler and SB winner!! Chris Simms is going to beat Tampa evry time he faces them. Sad, the kid nearly died on the field for this team, they could at least give him a roster spot and make him a back up. Heck he did better than the other QB's at camp after a 2 year layoff and he didn't even get any reps. Tampa lets go of a healthy Chris Simms!! For a broken down Garcia who is one hit away from retirement along with Griese?? What a joke!!

Gee. Mean ole Gruden and Glazers gave Simms $2mil to rehab and when he couldn't hit the side of a barn, had interceptions, more balls batted at line of scrimmage, and threw balls into the dirt or over the WRs heads, they thought maybe he couldn't play. Since they paid him $2 mil they tried to get some of their wasted money back by trying to trade him. When it was obvious that NO TEAM IN THE NFL wants him, they let him go...but before that let him play a whole lot of preseason time giving him a chance to showcase himself. Do you guys even know football? Or above average treatment when you see it? Simms has no cause to dislike any part of the Bucs org. Everyone likes Simms, he's a great kid. Just not a very good QB.
I have suggested law school.

I agree with ladyfan to the extent Simms NFL career has ended. Why would a team pick up a left-handed QB who at best would be a project? If Chris really wants to play, he will have to go to the CFL and get the rust out, his timing back, gain confidence and prove to himself and the NFL owners and managers that he can be a NFL quarterback. This is something he has yet to do and no on is sure if Gruden is part to blame or not. I would suggest it is up to Chris, it is all or nothing right now.
