Green Bay Packers Need to Sign Jeff Garcia

There are 14 comments on the Bleacher Report story from Sep 6, 2009, titled Green Bay Packers Need to Sign Jeff Garcia. In it, Bleacher Report reports that:

Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Great, The Green Bay Packers had two important steps take place this weekend that will enable my favourite quarterback to be in green and gold: They dumped 2008 second round pick Brian Brohm, who showed little to make one believe he could play at the NFL level in two training camps and preseasons.

Works for me. I had a nightmare last night where AR went out and Flynn took one hit on his shoulder in the first series and couldn't go. Donald Driver was in at QB. Ugliest wildcat formation ever.

Garcia, (who wants to be the starter) or Feeley who will be released by the Eagles today.

Yes. If the Pats don't get Feely first. I think Jeff must realize by now that demanding to start isn't going to get him a job.

The Packers don't NEED Jeff Garcia. They need Rodgers to stay healthy!

Garcia has made it known he believes he is starter quality and doesnt want to accept a backup role, therefore, it would mean nothing but contraversy for the packers. Im all for that so sign the guy.

Like I said, he had one offer in the off-season. I think that "I'm starter" stuff is fine--I like the mentality--but he already accepted a backup role in 2 or 3 places. I honestly don't mean to be personal, but no one with a brain would question that Aaron is the man in GB.

I agree with Rick; Thigpen would be a nice pickup. We would have to work out a trade to make it happen though. Flynn has an injury so we shouldn't be taking chances if something were to happen, besides he's not ready yet if needed. Thigpen, on the other hand, would be an excellent backup. I hope TT makes this move. Garcia, in his mind, is still starting caliber and maybe he is. He would be an excellent backup if convinced that is his role now.

thats all im sayin - i see him ending up somewhere where he can be the starter and that wont be in GB.

Well, since all 32 teams now have their starting quarterbacks in place, it's seriously doubtful that Garcia is going to get his way. He is going to have to sign on as someone's backup and then hope for a shot.

I have a feeling that the Packers already have something in the works, unless they truly believe that Flynn's injury is not serious.

Ah! I gotcha. At his age he might better consider mercenary duty.
