F him. He is old as dirt and is done. we dont need a bandaid for a year, we need a new QB all together that has youth, AND AN arm
The guy has an arm still. He had a great record last year with a soso running game. The question every year is can we get to the superbowl. Who do you have the best chance with? Not, oh we're rebuilding and shooting for a championship say 4 years from now. Hopefully, are rivals will go downhill and we'll have a shot at the division

To all the members who acknowledge that Favre is a great catch for either team, please don't read this post.

To the rest of you...have you been living under a rock for the past 16 years? Last I checked Brett has more records behind center than you can count with your fingers, which would prove to be a problem for most of you. He is coming off a 4000 yard season and finished second behind TOM BRADY in the MVP race.

Is he getting older? Yes.

Is he deteriorating? Absolutely not. He is coming off his (arguably) best season in 17 years, leading his team to the NFC championship game.

What about that interception? I still don't understand why an interception automatically points fingers at the QB's ability to throw accurately. Who are you to say his receiver didn't blow his route?

In conclusion I would like to say that anywhere Brett Favre goes I am sure he will succeed and his fans will continue to support him.The Green Bay Packers General Manager Ted Thompson should be ashamed of himself for the way he treated a man who has done so much for this Packers organization.

I would love to have Favre b/c Pennington can't throw the ball past 5 yards and Clemens still isn't ready yet. I would trade for Favre but whats holding me back is...Favre is on the cover of Madden 2009!!..the Madden Curse is alive!! Buyer beware!

you are all lost..the Jets would be much better with farve..they have two QB's..both of whom are terrible...look at the JETS entire team...they have a very good O line..D Line..LB...WR are good..deep at RB...deep at TE..good special teams and pretty good young secondary...they only need one thing..BRETT FARVE...the PATS will struggle this year..they are old on defense..they lost Samuel..they lost Gay..they lost Stallworth..they will not nearly be as good...the JETS can win the division with Farve...offer the conditional 1st round pick and get him...if your gonna go for it then go for it 100%...not half ass...offer the 1st rounder and take a chance.

If they don't get him, and I hope they do provided they don't give up too much, do they stick with who they have or look elsewhere? Being they're going all out for #4, it wouldseem they don't have much confidence or CP or KC.

One big problem if Brett becomes a Jet--can the receivers handle the ball? Brett throws much harder than Pennington and Clemens...his receivers (who were used to his throws) had a hard time hanging onto the ball because their fingers hurt so much.....the Jets receivers are not used to that....I would anticipate a lot of dropped balls, or tipped interceptions....either way, not good. They would not have a lot of time in camp to get used to it, it could just be a bad idea.

According to Fox, Brett is coming out your way this season. The Packers are owned by the fans out here and they are not happy. Lots of people calling for Thomas' and McCarthy's heads. Brett left many in tears when he left today, but at least he'll still get to play. Hope he brings as many titles to the Jets as he did the Packers.

Yeah. I'm hearing the Jets got him. I'm surprised. Well, thats is good for them. They got themselves some one that can throw, and knows how to win.
I'm a Giants fan, but no Jet hater in me at all. This is probably a pretty good move for them. I'm just surprised there was no "back room deal" sending an NFL poster boy to where he really wanted to go.
Well good. It's nice to know they did things on the "up and up".
I guess it's a good day to be a Jets fan.

Brett Favre will need to learn the Jets playbook in a hurry. The start of the season is right around the corner ...

I guess cutting Chad was the cap room answer! Nice guy. Too bad for him. Take it from a Pack rooter--Brett can still play. Bubba should be quite pleased.

true. CHad put them in position TWICE in the game against Pit where a FG sends them to the AFC championship. Just like no one talks about Eli's weakneesses since he won a SB, so would have Chad's 'weak' arm talk. After 8 years he had taken themas far he could..

Lets see how Favre handles 20 reporters asking,'how did you miss that open receiver or why did you throw that interception'?
