Martz is not the problem. He never missed a tackle, never dropped a pass, nor missed a block. never fumbled, false started or anything else. The major problem of the Lions is their lack of talent on defense (especially the secondary) and the will to work very hard to get to the level of their competition. Shawn Rodgers, what a joke he's in no shape and to fat to play football that guy has to go....
If you could give John Kitna some protection (right tackle in particular) he could tear up the competition. A coaching change is needed but not Martz. Try the special teams coach and the defensive secondary.

Your team will never compare to the Packers, there more talented and better coached in all positions.

Unlike the Lions they are winners in all phases of the game.

I really feel sorry for all of you Lions fans. Your stuck with medicore top management. Your owner should stick to building cars or making Pizza's or parking cars..........

Been a Lions fan for 30+ years but really wonder how much more I can take, this team seems to change direction and philosophy every couple of years, it has no direction and I guess that falls at Millen's feet. Where's the future? Kitna isn't it, he's been adequate but he's not the future, and guess what? They are finally getting the Tampa Two defense down, problem is it's a little too late, teams are learning how to plan against it. We went through this with the west coast offense a few years back, implementing it just as defenses were learning how to play against it. We need some forward thinking or we will be screwed for another decade.

i have been a lion fan for 50 years and have never seen a worse stretch of football then the Millen era. Drafting and player signings are the worst . No wonder Barry packed it in. He could seen into the future. The offensive line is horrible, as is the defensive front. The linebackers cant start for any other team in the league. Defensive backs are worst i have seen in all my years rooting for the lions.Whats sad is that none of the preset lions would have started on any lions teams of the sixtys. And these athletes are supposed to be bigger, faster, and stronger.

Hey Millen, firing Martz was a mistake. Ya know how last season went, be prepared for another 3 and 13 season. Just when you start getting your team looking better you throw a wrench in the in the gears by firing key people. You cant keep changing strategies every other day and expect a winning season. I agree with Martz in that Rod is a great coach and will do well, that is, as long as he keep his key coaching staff...Meaning.. take a look back at the scores.... wasnt all the offense's fault. When we won, mostly, it was not by much but when we lost big.

have been a life long lions fan and have been a little upset over the trades and not resigning key players in the past this has come back to haunt us tradeing rodgers was a good thing he played only when he wanted to what we need is better o line and front four that get after the quarterback to keep the pressure on, we also need help with runing back kelvin jones just did not work out as plan could use a couple of shut down cornors but i will as always remain a fan

Firing Martz was only to be expected by the Lions Organization. Set some Offensive Records, get a few players that have a spark... and GET RID OF THEM!!!! Quick before they actually start a winning organization. To Promote the very guy who SHOULD have been fired exemplifies the State of the Lions. Promote the guy who could block for his running back, who couldn't protect the Quarterback, Re-sign the guy at right tackle who had more offsides penalties at the EXACT WORST TIME, For the first time in my life I actually feel like a free agent fan.... All of my loyalties for the Lions are once and for all gone. I just don't care how they do this year. Too many years of this exact same bullshit year after year.... too little too late guys... sorry, but I have swallowed for the last time.
