So, now he is starting to say "Let's make a deal!" and the phins are saying "No deal.."

When he is saying "Minimum + roster & performance bonuses." they might listen. After all, it is a business.

Of course, he will have to kneel before Tuna and say three times:

"O forgive me Big Tuna, for I have erred greviously, mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa!"

For those who do not know humility, as JT knows it not, they have to learn to grovel at times.

Of course, he can really change his mind and take one of the many offers he has ... what, no offers?

Then he has only one choice. A reality show. He and his family do a reality show about a meglamaniac football star that can't dance anymore and ...

you know the rest of the script. He could hire Oz as a consultant and learn to mumble unintelligibly instead of clearly speaking unintelligible hogwash.

PS I bet he voted for Y'Obama

What a difference a year makes. Parcells should make him sweat a little bit before signing him to a mostly performance based contract and he has to be willing to mentor the younger players. It's not about you, Jason. It's about the Miami Dolphins and their fans. If he's willing to play ball by the Tuna's rules, then sign him. If not, hit the dusty trail.

That's hillarious! Even in this depressed economy, people would rather be out of work then be a part of the Jets! Hahahahaha!!!

I'm a huge fan of Jason Taylor, but don't think much of Joey Porter as a person. Both played with tremendous heart and drive. I find it hard to imagine that Jason Taylor has falled off the performance cliff and is now only a shadow of his former self. If he puts forth the effort (that may be in question), I believe he can be at least an above average performer.

Given that both Taylor and Porter play the same position, and Porter is coming off his best season, perhaps of his career, his value is maximized. Porter is only two years younger than Taylor, so he fits the same "performance slowing" bill stated by Ireland with regards to Taylor. His salary is also among the highest on the team.

Maycock is quoted as saying "[i]f you need a cornerback in this draft, sit it out. There are no corners even well above average, never mind great." We need a CB. I believe it would benefit the Dolphins (assuming they have confidence in Taylor acting as a solid gap-filler) to trade Porter for a starting, young CB and perhaps an additional day one pick.

This is so illogical that it makes perfect sense. I cannot see a better way to capitalize on the availability of Jason Taylor. Thoughts?

Ummm, I don't call 6 wins in 40yrs "Owning" much of anything. Only jet's (aka. That 2nd rate J.V. team in North Jersey) fans would think that way. For you a grand total of 2... thats right TWO division titles in the entire history of the AFC East is something to be proud of. For everyone else, that just puts you one step higher than the Lions and on the same rung as the Bengals.

That's quite a username! And you call someone else gay? It's funny that JT doesn't hate the Jets, he just thinks their fans are gigantic d0uche nozzles. Those that post on most of these blogs, identifying themselves as Jets "fans," typify what JT is talking about. Pushy, loudmouthed Yankees all.

He want to be part of history. And by the time the fish become a SB contender the guy will have nothing left to offer. Wake up fried fish fans ....A fluke year is not good enough to make you that special.Look north Jason and get yourself a ring...You have given enough to those losers in Fla.

I wouldn't consider washed up Jason Taylor as part of the 'depressed economy', remember he made millions as an over-rated, thin-skinned no playoff victories, sissy player in Miami. It works both ways - the Jets don't want him either. Even the Redskins cut him. Now go wack off to his poster you good for nothing POS...

HAHAHAHAHAHA! That's "owning" another team? Typical idiot jets fan. If you were anything BUT as a jets fan I'd tell you to think a little before you post a cut-and-past item. However, as a jets fan thinking is not an option!

I think your new headline is MISINFORMATION. That's a cheap move that the Miami Herald does to get readers. You're better than that Sun-Sentinel.

Um...once again the Jets own the Dolphins, especially within the last 10 years. You can post all the stuff you want to make yourself feel better. The Bengals and Lions, along with several other teams have not won a single super bowl. The Dolphins have won two, the last 36 years ago. So technically, that places the Dolphins just barely a rung above the Jets, right? Unless of course division titles (especially considering in the 1970s the rest of the AFC East was mostly bad to begin with) with not much else to show for it are something to be really proud of...How about that 62-7 loss to Jax? That was really funny. PUTZ

Ahhh, another New Yawk sports moron heard from! When was the last time the jets were even IN a Super Bowl? Oh year, when they were an AFL team back in 1969. You guys WISH you could have a fluke year. You'll have to settle for another year of high priced and under performing free agents, an embarrasing first round draft bust, lousy front office/ownership/player personnel moves, and a new QB/head coach. Oh yeah, worst of all you have to put up with all the other worthless jets fans.

JT said: "At the end of the day, if I couldn't find a job anywhere else and the Jets called, I guess I'd have to retire or go play."

That proves two things:
1. Most free agents have to be bribed to get anywhere near the jets organization.
2. JT is a really smart individual!
