Once-stellar defense's 'foundation cracked'

"Say what you want about us. We're too old. We're too green. No depth," Zach Thomas vented after one of the Dolphins' recent and numerous deflating losses, in which the franchise's once-vaunted defense ... Full Story

The dolphins position in the draft should produce talented players they can bring in and develop into players they can trust!!!

What gets me is Capers saying he hasnt been as agressive cause he doesnt trust the secondary. Sounds good, but remember, our secondary LAST year wassnt exactly the STRENGTH of the defence. It was the PASS rush thatmade it look better. Our lack of stopping the run may negate SOME of the pass rush, but it shouldnt have on OBVIOUS passing downs, 3rd down and longs, or when the better backs were taking a play off. Which means our 3rd down defence STILL should be good, but, it sucks. They need to get back to being agressive. What else do they have to lose?

When you are scare, you play safe, it's up to Cam to tell his defense to be agressive and to stop thinking about job security. And get the new qb in the game, hell with the bs, if he can't do the job, then we will know what needs to be done with the draft, and the special teams need to have a fire lit under there butt, perhaps a new coach is call for. How long did we think this defense was going to go without solid play from the interior line? How long could we go without replacing the secondary personnel with talented players. It's all catching up to the Fins now. Bad drafts in the Wanstead years followed by he Saban debacle has caught up to them. Take a deep breath, evaluate and make changes.

The secondary stinks! That moron Saban should have paid Sertain. I don't think this defense was ever "stellar". They were a good defense when Wannesteadt was here but he was too stupid to make it work.

That's true but can we trust who's picking the players? Example: Jason Allen(17 overall, Ted Ginn (9 overall.

we could of gotten Willis or Okoye (both cornerstones of a defense) last draft and got Ginn instead.

Mueller doesn't know what he is doing

I'm just tired of hearing Cam say, "...play the guy that gives us the best chance to win..." Well,,,you are still losing, so what do you have to lose by playing someone else? Also, please tell me that Shulters will start. When he wasn't brought back, I didn't understand what happened. Sammy Knight also had a good year and wasn't brought back.

Yes Dolphin Fans, the Fins are now in the toilet, this is the worst team
the Fins have ever had. The offense is finished, the defense is finished,
Cameron is no good, the franchise is shot. It is time to have a new
owner/owners of the Dolphins because Huizenga can't get it done.
He has no football sense in the fact that he can't hire the right
people to coach the team. The Fins are at least 10 years or more
from ever competing in this league again. Ticket sales are out
the roof and anyone who pays those kinds of prices for this team
are out of their minds. No one, and I mean no one should show
up for anymore games nor purchase tickets until either the Fins
do better or until ticket sales are much, much lower. It can't get
much lower than this Fans.

Fire the team scouts as they havent earned their money in picking good players. This all starts with the draft.

It is time to release Jason Taylor and
Zack Thomas, yes it is. The both need
to go to other teams that have a chane
at the Big One, they should go to the
Patriots or Colts just like Wes Welker
did. Cameron was so stupid to let Welker
go, he is one great player. At this point
in time Shula should be rehired and Dan
the Man should be at QB again. Cameron, you
are not head coach material and neither
are the people under you.

This has to be the worst franchise in the history of the NFL.

The fish would probably be 4-4 if they had kept Daunte. But noooo...big chief Cameron summarily dismissed him, locked him out of his own facility...now his actions are coming full circle to bite him in the arse.

When the fish were 0-4, I heard Cameron say,..."well the first quarter is over...we will do better the next quarter....

The good news is the fish did not do any worst....snicker snicker....

True..its impossible to do worst when you are winless....snicker snicker...

Learn from a great team, THE NY JETS, and you just might win a game in 2010.

Then again, maybe not.

Prognosis for the fish?

0-16 going strong baby!! LMFAO

JETS OR BUST.

Omar, when can we expect to hear the results of this "evaluation" that's supposed to be going on?
Or, is not for public consumption?

They should be out there playing with reckless abandon. They have nothing to lose at this point. Unfortunatly they are still out there playing like they have nothing to gain and might as be safe.

Our secondary has sucked Since Saban took over. Last year they were just as bad but the difference our front 7 put so much pressure and kicked butt that it made those losers look good. They all SUCK except for Bell. Now Zach and JT are only 2 players worth anything and they are the oldest, how sad

Andre Goodman was a starter last year; he has an interception this year.

Why has Goodman been replaced with Michael Lehan who has 0 interceptions in 5 seasons and 55 games?

Also, hopefully after the bye-week, Lance Schulters can replace Cameron Worrell who has 0 passes defended and 0 interceptions.

Are you serious? So we can lose a higher draft pick? It's too late, lose them all and get the first pick of the draft.
