What second chances did Vick give those dogs he hung, drowned, electrocuted, fought, and killed? Don't say they were just dogs, because Michael Vick is worth ONE of the dogs he killed, and that is a fact.

Their feelings will be hurt when Vick returns to the league - oh well, they'll get over it...should be easy, they're already over every other case of dogfighting in the country.

Nope, my feelings won't be hurt. His will though. Because every team that he plays will have a player or two that will take the cheap shot, players that will try and maim him, and the crowd will cheer when he is carried off the field on a stretcher, just as his family cheered when Chris Chandler was injured. Also, I think his thin skinned feelings will be hurt when he is met on every NFL field with massive boo's, because we all know he CAN'T handle that.

Cheap shots?? LOL....oh, maybe you didn't realize that the only current NFL player that took any "cheap shot" at Mike Vick was the one convicted of an animal cruelty charge himself, just last week...LOL I think Charles Grant, Julius Peppers, Brian Urlacher and the like could careless about MV's crime, especially since SO many of them said as much to the media. You obviously don't watch the games at all - just pretending like you do.

Oh, the insults aren't really creative - try something a little more "bonified" next time....LOL
Oh, and every NFL fan knows Mike Vick will be back in the league - Billy Martin already told you that.

So sad that you have to resort to insults in regard to 'spelling' errors. Surprising that you actually recognize them, it really does surprise me, because your attitude suggests you are a 'project dweller'.

You find it insulting that you can't spell? LOL - well, you're really gonna be insulted that you don't know the proper use of apostrophes vs single quotation marks....LOL

After he pays his debt to society, he does deserve a second chance just like anyone else.....He is in the process of paying right now......i can only assume that he is learning alot about himself right now, BUT not everyone gets humbled, so he may be in an even worse state when he gets out.....Only time will tell, i do hope that he can benefit from this, I was a very big fan....

It's as you say, Joe. it's all up to him. If he uses the time well, prison could be the best thing that ever happened to him. If he comes out the same or worse.....

Now, I am one of thise who doesn't think he's all that, though he is a dazzling runner. But, I think that's likely because he lacks any amount of self-discipline. If he could acquire maturity and self-discipline.... could be REALLY something!

He will be back. The league has human killers and abusers on their rosters and Vick not even close to being as bad as that.

I would be shocked if it was worse. I say he hugs, pets, kisses, stokes, and feeds dogs from now on. As for overall, who knows. What if he does some good deeds for animals but messes up on the human relationship side? Do we count the dog incident against him or do we say two seperate issues because of him gaining understanding of animal life?

Good question! What if someone already messed up on the human relationship side, is that alright if they hug and kiss and stroke a dog? Does that make it okay?

Come on criminology majors! yes it really can be worse. it is truely a toss of a coin! I know alittle about rehab, recovery, prison, etc. If the person is not ready for change they will not and can get even angrier especially when he has his dazzling apologist to "help"him feel more self pity! stupid people don't know thats ENABLEING at it's worst! Just hand him a joint and a pitbull and it's on! Really, with the martyer aspect it can. but if he actually sees how bad he truely f***ed up he can actually get better. He has to hit a "bottom"so to speak. of course he is probably saying he will get better IF he gets his way and plays football again. that is the scary part. he will have conditional recovery which is almost always doomed to fail. like no I won't smoke crack anymore IF you will give me my life back even though i don't deserve my life back(that is a common example. then it can and will with his kind of anger get worse!if his apologists only knew how TOXIC they really are!!!!!!!

Wow! great post! I love that- conditional recovery- I'm going to keep that in mind for future reference when looking at similar instances. You may be right. Do the apologists enable? Can he fake it forever if he's doing so? How much does the negativity of the other side saying he can't change effect his ego as well?

Having a family of recovering alcoholics I know time will tell. He has an addiction to this gambling with some drug use and the codependent friends, etc. but his apologists are TRUE enablers. Look at the people sitting outside of a rehab waiting to take the alcoholic back to the bar. Right now he's a sitting duck. I truely hope someone in that rehab tells him straight up his bullshit. Because if he doesn't get rigorously honest with himself he a cooked duck. of course it may not happen immediately but rehab has a way of revealing things about one's self that can eat you alive if you leave and start living a crappy life. You know this I hope. and with his anger he wasn't having that gteat of a life. He may have said that but look at the things leading up to this(herpes, pot, fingers). He wanted this as much as that gov. from NY. did you read the article about how a addict WANTS to get caught?

Not sure it affects him at all. He promised Blank several time that he would shape up and stay out of trouble. Then, went right back to getting into one scrape after another. The attitide that he expressed, "They'll love Mike Vick no matter what I do," seemed to extend to Blank. When confronted by Vick and Goodell, he simply told them that nothing was going on at the Moonlight house, and made no effort to clean of his operation.

In short.. I'm not sure he cares. Or, at least, he didn't nefore his arrest.

Whether he has grown as a person, as a result of incarveration, remains to be seen and demonstrated.

I think he was enabled so many times, he assumed entitlement.
