Yes, this is the news I wanted to hear. Let the Pats sign Jason Taylor and then the Miami Dolphins can use Jake Long to road grade is arse as Ronnie Brown racks up another 100 yard day with 6 or 7 TDs!

What's to negotiate? If JT really wants to play in Miami, he will sign for the veteran minimum.

We should extend an offer to him immediately before the Patsies* and Bucs drive up his going price. If this turns into a bidding war, we're out, and for good reason. Offer him an incentive-laden base contract; he'll take it to stay with his family and retire a Phin.

Ireland's remark is either beyond arrogant, or he is using it to misdirect a ridiculous ofer to JT. New Englands player selection is always better than Miami's, no matter who is in charge. They are just MASTERS at selecting and signing players.

many say they dont mind if he signs with the pats, but you know what? I think if JT really is proud of being a player for long time with the fins, and loves the fins, then he should sign elsewhere than any other afc east team, he knows the rivalry, he knows how fans feel, he knows how the fins get up for those games, He knows he would be back stabbing the fins if he signed with a rivalry team. I know its a business but come on, he knows how fans would feel, and if he really was a fin fan like he says he is, he wouldnt go to the pats, jets , or buffalo!

You may be right but the trifetta has a way of surprising us. They just don't always tell us what they are doing just what they have done. They could be working on a contract right now with JT and we would not know about it until it is signed.

I would like to see him back with the Dolphins so he could retire as a Dolphin.

I don't think he will become a Dolphin again. I don't think Parecells wants him. JT's achilles heal is his run stopping. He gets bowled over too much......I will be surprised of the Trifecta signs him.

MarinoFan is dead-on. Sign JT to an incentive-laden contract, say, veteran minimum plus $300K per sack, or something similar. He is a better pass rusher than anyone else on the team, probably including Porter. What is the hesitation?

And what is this "We haven't made a decision yet," BS? What do the Fin's possibly have to lose from signing him, unless he is demanding some outrageous contract terms.

Did JT care about the Dolphins last year after that 1-15 debacle? Nope. He went out to California to Dance with the Stars. What did we do WITHOUT him? 11-5. As a Dolphins fan of 35 years, I am indifferent really. Having him wouldn't make us worse or anything (provided he took the veterans minimum and some incentives). Obviously Taylor has talent but we don't NEED him anymore. There will be a dozen good pass rushers who become cap casualties in July or August. Parcells and co. didn't panic and were patient last summer and we landed Pennington. They know what they are doing.

Best of luck Jason Taylor; sincere thanks for the really great years you gave us!

Right on; The man already has all the money he will ever need, and more... If he goes to the Pats* he better be wearing his helmet and pads when he gets off the team bus on Dec. 6 cause hes gonna get bombed with lots of full beer bottles. That probably wont happen cause the bus comes in before they let us in, but he had better watch his back while sitting on the sideline...
GO PHINS!!!

Don't you think its dishonest and inflammatory of you Harvey to cut the story there? I saw Ireland on the video and what he continued saying was that they (Parcels et al) would have to make a decision on it soon. No wonder the front office and coaches clam up with you press guys.

Word on the street in NE is the deal is already done. Taylor will be in a NE uniform this year looking for the ring he could never get down here. You can't fault him for that, he gave his ALL down here and much more. Give the guy a break, don't you think the guy deserves a Super Bowl ring???
