Undoubtedly, the worst piece of trash article I have ever had the misfortune of reading. Very classy Drew. Pick on an old, frail, ill, man. Al still knows more about the game of football than you will ever learn in 10 of your pathetic lifetimes. Ask any other owner around the league if you don't believe me, or the record number of Hall-of-fame players Al has introduced. If you are extremely fortunate, you will live as full a life as Al has. The only difference will be that you won't be a billionaire Hall-of-fame owner with three Lombardi's on your mantle fool!

a couple years ago I was about ready to jump on the Al Davis Bashing band wagon. After all, how many losing seasons and lousy drafts must we endure? However, after the 2010 draft, I began to think maybe the old man still has something left.

Regardless of what he has left...regardless of how many losing seasons.....regardless of how many bad draft picks......

Al Davis has FORGOTTEN more about the game of football than most people will ever know.

And that doesn't even begin to described WHAT he's done for the player, as coach, and as commissioner, instrumental in the success of the AFL, which led to the merging of the 2 leagues.

I hope he adds at least a 4th Lombardi before his time is up. Honestly, I would like to see him add several Lombardi trophies before he's gone.

I was on the Al Davis bashing wagon for a while. Pretty much when he signed Warren Sapp and traded for Randy Moss and drafted Michael Huff. Then the drafting of Jamarcus Russell didn't help. Darren McFadden is getting better, but what really ticked me off was the drafting of DHB and the fact that he didn't pan out as a rookie. I tried to like the players he drafted, but Russell got worse in his third year. I was calling McFadden McFumble plus he was injured a lot. In his rookie year, DHB did in one season what good receivers do in 1 game plus he was injured in half of it. I officially jumped off in 2010 when we cut Jamarcus Russell; I thought about it after we had a decent draft (and I lean towards the theory that Tom Cable locked Al Davis up somewhere and tied him to a chair). This last draft had some good and bad; Stefan Wisniewski and Joe Barksdale were good picks. I was leary of DVD, but I knew we would take him. Dennarius Moore sounds like he'll be a good steal. Tawain Jones was too good to pass on so they say. Chekwa's been injured and Richard Gordon seems like a wasted pick. Ausberry may be somebody special. Overall I think we got some good players, but I think we should've gotten another OL instead of Richard Gordon; Corners were slim pickings this year so I'm trusting that we did the best we could.

i love al davis! i don't love the ugly ass yellow gross looking teeth and crapy skin of his. but i love al davis because of the image and look and toughness of what the team stands for. he has done a lot for this team. we cannot be perfect. look at the lions and the browns and other teams that have not won a single superbowl? what goes up, must come down! and we hit bottom pretty hard. last year looked bright and lets hope that this year we keep going higher. we're not the only team that has gone through this. the patriots, the colts, were never really the gratest of teams and today they are the top of the nfl teams. this team is no different as far as wins. we are different because of our image. i owe it all to al davis. we've had really great players. hall of fame tells it all. we've also picked some crappy guys. the attempt to pay them high was a mistake BUT, he tried! who doesn't make mistakes? what owner hasn't overpayed a player? al davis to the nfl is a genious. to haters? well he's been called a lot more names than you can imagine. what hurt was when "supposedly RAIDER fans" were putting up billboards trying to bring down al davis.
al davis is alive and i too hope that he brings in at least one more superbowl before he kicks the bucket. al davis is already high in the nfl as far as fame. and to win another superbowl, it will put him amongst the best ever. more than that, he wants it for his RAIDER fans, THE RAIDER NATION! thats me and whoever follows the silver and black.
