Well I think it's good that we are looking at him as an option. I myself think Zach Miller was the better TE, but Kevin Boss is one of the next best options available.

Boss is a start but if Oakland WAnts To b better than8-8 they need a vet receiver. The giants Steve Smith is available....

Zach Miller =$7 Mil/year

Kevin Boss @$4 Mil/year = A STEAL

Boss is DEFINITELY not as good as Miller (as a receiver) but the price is good for good TE.
Boss is also better at blocking than Miller.....but if we're looking to do more of that with our TE, we already have a couple on the Roster. I still think this is a great move.

Is this a sign that the Raiders Fire Sale is over?

Boss is still young and wasn't in an offense that was TE friendly. Oakland's offense has been much more TE friendly. So to say he is no Zach Miller or isn't as good, is not a fair statement. His numbers will go up instantly with our TE friendly Offense. I think this is a solid move. Give it 2 seasons before you start comparing him to Miller.

I agree--the Giants don't use TE the same way we do. He will definitely catch some balls. I just watched some youtube highlights. He's got some nice hands and does a real good job of shielding off the defender (not sure the technical term) and staying between defender and QB. I think he may have caught more passes if somebody told Eli to 'look off' the defenders once in a while so they weren't standing on Boss's shoulders while he had to make the catch.
