Why? Faggins is a scrub with little to no upside. Ken Lucas is still out there.

looks like the tri doesn't like this draft for DB's.

we'll probably go after WR's, Dt, LB, and OL and pick up Faggins to give us depth in the DB.

They know more than I know, and more than 99.999% of the posters know, so I'll enjoy watching the Phins' kick the shite out of the draft next month.

Taking a look at Faggins gives us an idea of what the trifecta think of the CBs on this team. I have to think a CB will be targeted early in the up coming draft. Maybe not on the first day, but somewhere in the top 4 picks. At least that's my guess.

Goodman was allowed to walk because of his age. I guess they thought they could replace him with a draft pick and the trade off would be youth if any at all.

I can see the fins picking up another CB for competition. The more competition at a position the better because that's how you improve. I just hope we get one that get's to be head and shoulders above the others than the competition.

Picking up another in the draft is not a priority, so now we will be able to pick BAP in the draft.

I still think they go:
1st: defense
2nd: OL
3rd: OL
4th: NT

This is the draft that could cement our OL for decades because this draft is very deep in OL talent.

The defense is a couple of years away from being a top 5 tier defense. They made great strides last year and I suspect next year we will get another Big need FA and devote more high picks for defense.

With this regime they rotate players and give playing time to gain experience, evalute and keep the older veterans fresh. So, I see a slight improvement from last year. The foundation is slowly being built to win championships.

This regime believes in their coaching ability and developing players. This is the correct way the elite teams do it year in and year out.

I need to correct my post. I meant first 4 picks over 3 rounds.

Faggins, if signed, will provide depth and competition.

I think Miami will draft:
1: CB
2: WR
3: OL

I get the feeling most of the CB free agent looks and the pick-up of Eric Green are more about depth and competition at that position. I think Jason Allen has a chance to start. We really don't ask too much of the corners in our 3-4 scheme because Sparano likes to try and kill the other teams QB. Go Phins!

Losin' faith in these guys.

Faggins pales in comparison to Lucas.

Faggins 5-10 182 2yrs - GS 13/32 age 29 Tackles 70 int 0

Lucas 6-0 205 2yrs - GS 32/32 age 30 Tackles 120 int 4

Only 5 months apart in age.

DeMarcus Faggins is about as bad as Mario Edwards. Think about that.

I think you may be right about the guy. This guy has been through a lot with all the different coaches and regimes. He has all the physical tools/size and he hustles on every play, all the traits Parcells likes. I don't think this will be a make or break year for him because this is a contract year. Parcells will be able to get him at a bargain if he hasn't fully learned the cb position by the end of next season. I also think he will be loyal to the fins because they stuck with him through rough and thin. I saw flashes of improvement throughout last year and I think he will eventually be a decent CB in the fins system plus he plays special teams very good. In a jam he could play safety as a bonus because he has the experience. I just hope no body overpays for him where it would be impossible for the fins to match the offer.

Because maybe this guy is insurance and could not make the team. Miami's gonna draft a corner high, and has some young corners on the roster. This signing could be just to push the young corners.
