Come on Chuck. I have seen no evidence that Preston is a racist. Steele - that might be another story.

Preston likes Troy Smith. So do I, but I also know that at 6 ft, his long term prospects are not promising in the NFL. He will have a great career as a backup QB - his athleticism and confidence can provide a good change of pace.

As for Mikey P, I believe that he is afraid of being called a homer so he trends the other way and is overly tough on his own team.

Hint: Ignore his letter grade and concentrate on his comments. That will tell you what he was looking at during the game. Over the season, he has raised the bar on Flacco: Flacco has improved, but Mikey P's criteria also have gotten tougher.

I forgot one thing when talking about Flacco and Ryan.

Ryan throws his passes in at least 9 games that are played in a dome (8 home games and at NO).

Flacco's home games are at M&T. Have you ever walked around at field level. On a good day, there is a great deal of gusting wind. This wind has been shown to knock down passes, get under others and sail them, etc.

Not enough by itself, but add to that the need to execute the game plan and defenses with evil intentions, and you can see how it might be a bit more difficult.

Isn't it entirely obvious he is superior to Smith and practically any other rookie qb, with the exception of Ryan.
Does any one else recall which stat they showed during the game that placed Flacco second all-time for Rookie QB starts. I do know he was only beaten out by Rothlisberger and that Ryan was about two or three spots lower then him.

Get as frustrated as you want. the truth is the truth. if you choose not to believe that then that's your problem, not mine. When these two black reporters stop injecting race into a sports column than the rest of us will to. It's that simple.
it is all in your mind , you inject race into evry column not the sports writers . When have they said " I want the black players to play " or did you interpret what they said to mean that , see it's your interpretation not his words .
It's all in your head

Larry G-obviously there is nothing in your head, hence your oblivious responses to the facts as they actually are,and your continued invalid defense of Preston and Steele. Amadeo, the stat you are referring to is completion percentage of rookie QB's ,in which Flacco rated second all time, ever. And if I'm not mistaken Rottensberger wasthrowing to Hines Ward,Burres,Randle-El,and Flacco has thrown more passes or just about as close to it as Big Ben threw all year.Give him those recievers, and I gaurantee you those numbers would be much higher.

I'm not defending steele or preston , i like neither , but that stuff you guys are saying is foolishness and somebody needs to tell you

When is the last time you heard a white person say they hate black people? Most of the time it is COVERT not OVERT racism, meaning, you have to look at the way they words things that gives that impression. Have they said that they want Smith or the others to play because they are black? Of course not, but you have to look at the ratio of black to white players that they would rather have playing based on what they have said. And based on that, it is definitely covert racism.

Larry G- You don't have to say certain things for them still to remain obvious to the mostly literate, unbiased intelligent people on here. Then there are the other type like yourself who even after being beat over the head with the facts, still ignore the obvious because it doesn't fit your world as you choose to believe it.

Obviously LarryG,when I was referring to literate, unbiased, intelligent people, you weren't included in that list. You and your brother jonosmith have an obvious agenda and prejudice, but think somehow,95% of the people on here are too stupid to notice.Well, you're wrong. So far I think one other person has agreed with you,now do you feel special?I don't have to read anybody's mind, just have a good enough mind to understand what they are really saying,I'm sorry if that leaves you out.On second thought,I don't that would be a waste of a totally good brain.

just because you have prejudice in your mind doesn't mean you can transfer it to others .

It's in your mind , so call me names and rant , but you are guilty of what you accuse Preston of,
prejudice

I would not trade Flacco for any other QB including Ryan ,he is getting to be that good

Still looking for all those people on here agreeing with you Larry G-don't see them, the truth is always obvious, except for those that choose not to see it.I'm not prejudiced in the least, just stating facts.Wish you had some to share with us.Maybe you should go read the 230+ responses to Mike Preston's Q&A session and see how many people agree with you.Maybe 1% and they're probably related to you.Would love to continue to match wits with you but you're only half armed.
