got to say, that play by J. Johnson (the strip and fumble recovery) in the first quarter was probably one of the most athletic plays I've seen by a big man in a long time. Great stuff.

Will yamon figurs ever learn to run north and south instead of east and west? It is very frustrating (I can't imagine how frustrating for the coaches) to watch game in and game out how he 'dances' and tries to out run NFL players across the field. He needs to be replaced with leonard on punts and rice on kickoffs.

I totally disagree with the C rating for Flacco. I don't care if two passes were almost picks. That only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. He had no INTs and made Philly pay with a TD on one of their all out blitzes. Pretty darn good for a rookie QB with only 8 games under his belt.

Memo to Mike. It would seem that most of the football "experts" are expressing better opinions of Flacco's progress than are you.

I watched the game and did not get the sense that he was behind. He had a subpar first half (good defenses will do that to you), but came on in the second half to complement the D.

Watching highlights of the last two games, it seems like he is learning all the time.

Dear Mr. Preston,

Please tell Flacco what he needs to do in order for you to grade him above a "C", aside from getting a really dark tan and changing his name to Smith. He managed a great game, against one of the top pass rush defenses in the game, and had two TDs. What more do you want from a Raven's rookie QB?

Last time I checked, a blocked punt (for points, no less) is a special teams play. Should weigh that harsh D+ in the other direction.

Mikey Mikey Mikey a C for Flacco? His passer rating was 95% against a team with the most sacks in the league and they only have one decent receiver. You and this almost garbage I guess thats a reflection of you almosta sports writer. Still lobbying for Smith are you Mikey? Dont think so buddy.

I am at a loss as to what you want Flacco to accomplish. After 11 games, his total NFL career, he does O.K. Not yet able to carry the team but a lot better than we have seen in some time. He played better than a "C" yesterday.

I agree with you on Flacco but he has 11 games under his belt and is 7-4. I think Mike P is still looking to get Troy Smith to be the starter.

I have to agree with others on the "C" rating for the QB. I pretty much knew what he would say before I checked the site. Only wanted to confirm it. Mike has his own agenda. How the SUN tolerates this I do not know.

Preston you are full of it. National media is praising Jeo Flacco. Remember he is a rookie and you keep bringing almost picked of passes. They were not picked off Eagles defense was fast too in the first half. They were getting to quarter back. Second half Ravens made some adjustments and Jeo Flacco played well.

You should get over the fact that Troy Smith is not in competition for quater back anymore.

Also did not mention Jarred you was playing with injury and played very well had an interception/fumble recovery.

I don't know how Baltimore Sun is keeping you on this Job you are baised writer for sure.

he complered 4 passes in the first half and the touchdown by Wilcox was a bad throw and great catch

Flacco is doing very well, but a C or a C+ seems about right for this game. He was not consistently sharp - especially in the first half - and fumbled at least once. Having said that, I am very impressed with his composure over the past two games; he refused to crack under great pressure.

The 95 QB rating is not a percentage, it's a score. The best possible rating is (I think) around 158. So a 95 translates into about 61%; that's not all that great.

The ravens were great yesterday and dominated a decent football team.

The ravens were great yesterday and they dominated a decent team who would be two games better if they played in any other division.

HERE IS The report card from FIRE TREMBLEY...

REMEMBER when FIRE TREMBLEY said that he was "six for six" in his predictions? Of course he was lying then, because he said that The Ravens would "get rolled" by The Steelers, and The Steelers BARELY beat The Ravens in overtime. You think he will come on here now, and claim that he is "11 for 11" in his predictions? Soooooooooooooo, here's another reminder, just in case he (FIRE TREMBLEY)tries to weasel out of it, and say that he never said that......

On September 19th, FIRE TREMBLEY WROTE:
..."We'll see how you feel in January...after we finish the season with 4 wins...." ..........

AS IF that wasn't bad enough. IN ADDITION to The Ravens ALREADY having THREE MORE WINS that you said they would have all season, here is what you zinged back at everyone last week.........

On November 17th, FIRE TREMBLEY WROTE:
..."Check back with me in 3 weeks when this team is 6-7, and all you homers are calling for John Harbaugh's head..."

Special Teams a D+? c'mon mike. Figurs was bad and they had the 100 yeard return but stover was 2-2 and we had a blocked punt. I also think that the linebackers and d-line deserved a higher ranking.

The Sun should have the readers rate the Sun sports writers (A,B,C, etc.). Bottom writer on the totem pole gets fired.

Hey, the Sun is in a downsizing mode anyway. This would make it interesting and we could eliminate some of the trash that passes for journalism in this rag, particularly in the sports pages.

Whay say ye?

Preston, I am not sure whether you actually watch our games on Sunday or whether you are just getting highlights from ESPN's gamecast. Flacco got hit an almost every drop back. The ones where our line did hold up, our receivers were not open. Someone needs to give him alittle bit of help.

Your starting to sound pretty biased week in and week out critizing Flacco, and you are starting to look pretty foolish.
