I thoroughly dislike Hines Ward.........and sure wish he was on our squad. Steele's got one thing right: He'd make a great Raven if he played for us......we'd all love him. But because he's on the Steelers, I hate the punk.

Yeah right. Our boys on D may have a similar kind of swagger, but not a single one of them are remotely the kind of blatant punk b*tch that Ward is, and everyone in the league not on the Steelers knows that. Guys like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed play hard, even hit hard, but let's get real here, Ward goes out of his way to be a punk, and he goes out of his way to try and hurt people, he takes pride in that, and if you can't see that, you're blind.

On the other hand, no, Hines Ward in NO way is "our kind of guy", when it comes to the offense. None of our receivers are like him at all. And yeah, you can say that none of them are as productive in the stats as he is either, but you look at guys like Derrick Mason, Mark Clayton, Todd Heap, Dan Wilcox, those guys are all work horses, they're all humble, they're quite, and they're nothing but class. Especially Derrick Mason, who if I dare be so bold is the EMBODIMENT of pure class on the field, and he's one of, if not the most underappreciated receivers in the league, by the fans and the sports media. Guys like Ward, Johnson, Houshmenzadeh, Owens, and Moss, they're all the same dude...they get the headlines and the highlight reels, but half the time they're in the spotlight for their mouths and their "look at me" antics, as much as they are great plays. Mason, on the other hand, is cut from a different mold. He is seriously in a class with guys like Marvin Harrison, Tory Holt, maybe even Jerry Rice. No, he may not put up the kind of numbers those guys have in the past, but he's no slouch either. He's got the same humble mentality, he doesn't engage in ridiculous interview stunts and off-field antics, he doesn't act like a punk like some of those media darlings, but what he does do is run routs better than most receivers in the NFL today, his hands are almost always golden, he's a clutch receiver when you need him. And he's got almost 10,000 career receiving yds., and 51 TDs. Not only that, since 2001, he's had 7 seasons with over 1000 receiving yds., and he's on pace to have his 8th this season. Sports analysts have gone on record as stating that in the past 5 seasons (6 including this one), that Mason is 3rd in the NFL in receptions, only Holt and Harrison have more. And yet he's only been to 2 Pro Bowls, and never gets talked about.

But does he b*tch or complain about that? No. Why? Because he's class. Something Ward never has been nor ever will be. So if you were to ask me what a "Ravens" kind of receiver is, if given the choice between a Hines Ward or a Derrick Mason.....man it's a no brainer. I'd pick a class act talent like Mason every single time.

The first time Hiney man gets up and slashes his arm for a first down motion (maybe his only time)I expect a real chorus of boos to cascade from the heights of the upper decks to say "hi" to our honored guest in Ravens stadium.I'm sure we will view a new you tube snippet from this game somewhere, even if it's their coach looking like he's coming off his meds on the sidelines.

SO VERY TRUE. There are not many athletes with the class and sportsmanship of Mr. Mason

Yeah, especially if she is allowed to grab our cornerback's face mask and throw them to the ground while in coverage. Her ability to get open is flat out amazing ;---) That being said, let's bust her a*s.

When is this rag of a paper going to stop s*cking off the Steelers. No wonder they are bankrupt. Steeler fans can't afford to buy a paper. WTF?

I'm psyched for this game...it should be rated R for violence...can't wait..I love the bounty, it's like the old slap shot movie with the Hanson brothers. Have a few Ambulances circle the stadium before the game and a medivac fly around, could draw more exposure to the game.

Any intense, hard-sitting player is welcome to play for our Ravens. A dirty, cheating cheap shot artist is not. That's exactly what Ward is. He's dirty and everybody knows it. What I will never understand is why he leaves the field on his feet Sunday after Sunday. I guess the opposing teams show more sportsmanship to him than he does to them. But if ever anybody deserves a cheap career-ending shot it's Ward. He should be careful - eventually what goes around comes around.

Never cared for Ward. It's something about that simple-looking smile...... In the same token, what player would want to be responsible for very serious injury to the little jerk?(karma, karma). Anyway, David Steele do more of those bobble-head videos. Makes my day! Go Ravens!!!!!

can you say idiot. how does ward get all the attention like owens, johnson. typical ravens fan. of course you hate him. i would hate him too if he was putting my teams players on their ass with consistency. is it dirty when a defender hits a reciever when he is catching the ball and not looking at the defender, no its football. so why is it dirty if a reciever does his job by blocking someone who is not looking at him but at the ball and he hits him right in the chest. look at the blocks on river, reed, scott, he didnt hit them in the back. but its ok for ray lewis to hit mendanhall and say he is done. its ok keep hating and i am sure he will give you another reason to hate him on sunday. hopefully its on t thuggs. you just cant take the fact you can hit him as hard as you want and he gets up and laughs in your face. give the guy respect one of the most all around recievers in the history of the game

I still say I have never seen Ward hit anyone while they were facing him which makes me wonder about the claim he is a "physical" player. He seems to intentionally hunt down the unsuspecting player which is normally away from the ball and has no reall impact on the play.

I am also Hyped for this game. I agre that this game my be one of the most brutal games in the history of the NFL. Both defense are built like tanks. The Ravens offense seems to be a little more physical with McClain and neal in the backfield. But you could honestly have about 2-3 people taking to University Hospital and maybe even one medivaced out. THis Game may not be suitable for fans under 21

Why don't you write about something that a Raven's fan actually gives a toot about.

The Ravens need to completely ignore Hines Ward until the end of the game when it doesn't matter anymore and then they should hit him so hard that he leaves the field on a cart.

So the Ravens linebackers are crybabies b/c they agree with most of the league and in fans that Hines Ward takes cheap shots on people? Let me get this straight, Hines Ward plays dirty, and then when a player gets asked about it and confirms that he thinks that Ward plays dirty, that player is all of a sudden a crybaby? That makes no sense. You can't just make things up.

It's not dirty B/C THE WR HAS THE BALL!!!

Throwing a huge block on a player who isn't looking at him and isn't part of the play is taking advantage of a gray area. It is cheap, dirty, and unnecessary.
