There are 22 comments on the Baltimore Sun story from Oct 24, 2008, titled Ravens know this line of attack isn't working. In it, Baltimore Sun reports that:

Of the 12, just three have come from defensive linemen. It has gotten to the point where you don't have to tell them about the problem; they're talking about it themselves.

Most of the time we are running a 3 man front with 4 linebackers. You will also see a lineman covering for a blitzing linebacker in the coverage. We also run a prevent if we are ahead in the fourth quarter.

It's good to know they are putting a priority on improving in this area. The secondary is SO bad right now, they can't afford to let the QB sit back there and have all day to throw. I still say that lack of pressure is the main reason we lost to the Titans. Collins was really bad that day, but he had ALL DAY LONG to throw the ball and ANY QB is gonna eventually kill you if he's not pressured. Sure enough, we go into the stupid "prevent you from winning" defense on that last drive and he eats us alive. Gotta start disrupting the QBs.

I didn't know how to respond directly to the article about scrutiny towards Suggs. I believe the stat that says the Ravens are only the 9th most flagged team in the NFL but if there is another team that's been victimized by more ticky-tack penalties than them or come up on the wrong side of a 50-50 call, I'd sure like to know Who they are.T.Sizzle made a foolish comment to be sure but Hines Ward is a dirty player. He broke a Guy's jaw last week.It was established long ago that You don't go after a Guy's head.Ward obviously went for the Guy's head or He wouldn't have broken His jaw. What proves My argument about NFL officials ineptitude is the fact that after watching game film, the league fined Mr.Ward $15,000.Why couldn't the refs see it in real time or at least on instant replay? If You'll recall the Pittsburgh game,Ward clearly hit J.Johnson in the back out of bounds right in front of the ref.Typically, there was no laundry thrown until Johnson turned and retaliated and not as viciously as He was hit by Ward. These Refs are very selective about when and for what reason and against Whom they will throw a flag.Either the fix is in(We never get a call in Pitt.) or they are as bad as I've said.If You'll remember, that call on Johnson gave the Steelers new life and won the game for them.

P.S. I can almost gaurantee You, that if Johnson had not turned to retaliate against Ward, then no flag would have been thrown at all.

Most of the time we are rushing only 3 or 4 while the other team has 5-6 blockers... Id rather have the opposing team have more people blocking then out running routes.

Neva nails it.

Kelly Gregg's absence is a major factor in the sack lack this year.

Get well Kell. We need ya real bad.

Uh, Haloti? As someone who watched you for years here in Oregon i have noticed you don't have any sacks! What's more, you almost never are able to get across the line of scrimmage. Coach Belotti had to constantly stay on you to keep you working

The reason Ward gets away with his cheap shots on game day is that what they are cheap shots away from the play. So they aren't seen by the officials. So, when the NFL sees films they fine him. I am glad that the new commish is cracking down on his style of play.

When Pryce and Thomas played on the same side they combined for about 25 sacks. When Thomas hit Boller in pre and he fumbled, everyone was upset that Boller turned the ball over. Myself I was more upset that Thomas was sacking Qbs and causing fumbles for the Pats and not the Ravens. Yes, Ozzie bad move as the pass rush is not as good as it was before you let him go. Its tuff to take when we see players like Thomas , Pats and Harrison , Pitts former Ravens helping their teams be SB contenders. Ozzie needs to stop letting guys like that and Lewis and Anderson go to.

Thomas left for the money and to get a ring. We had no room under the cap anyway and AD was getting older. I don't see how you can fault the Ravens for letting AD go, especially as we always seem to have a surplus of young linebackers.

When Lewis was here you all were lining up to pack his bags so he could leave town as fast as possible. Ozzy made him a good offer but Savage made him a longer one. Lewis was great last year. This year he's just okay and who knows about next year? The Ravens RB situation is just fine without him.

You all really knew that DA was the next big thing when he was here right? Sure, I believe you. Tell me who would you rather have, DA or Flacco? Before you answer that give Flacco Braylon Edwards, Joe Jurevicius, Winslow and Jamal ,all in peak form, as his teammates and then let's compare the two. DA is hardly a sure bet to finish the season as the starter, let alone the next couple of years.

The ship has sailed on these guys, get over it.

The Clowns beat the Giants but tell me who is going to finish the year higher in the standings?

I could not have said it better myself. When is Biscotti going to step in and officially complain. Not until the Ravens stop selling out games like the old Colts. The Ravens have less sacks because other teams are allowed to hold against the Ravens. The refs always screw the Ravens and every team in the NFL knows it.

I don't know what world you live in. Ward was not fined for the hit that broke the player's jaw. And the replay clearly shows no contact above the shoulder. It was a clean shoulder-to-shoulder block. Quit whining about Hines Ward.
