The following quote is exactly why I can't stand Mike Preston. "Harbaugh has already taken some criticism for hitting so much in practice, which has resulted in several injuries." This coming from a guy who called Billick's training camp "Camp Creampuff." First off, who is criticizing Harbaugh...the players, the coaches, the fans, Mike Preston? I will never read another Mike Preston article.

No doubt about it. Mike Preston is one of the worst sports writers -- ever. He wouldn't know an insightful, accurate, balanced piece of journalism if it bit him in his arse.

"Harbaugh has already taken some criticism for hitting so much in practice, which has resulted in several injuries. But he has had no other choice. With so much youth on offense, he has had to get this team game-ready as fast as possible."

Preston haters, you might want to read the full quote before you send out the attack dogs. He merely suggested that others have criticized Harbaugh for a tougher training camp. He then goes on to explain why that greater intensity was needed. What's the gripe?

That is a good "tough" training camp.
Of course you will have lots of injuries going into the season. But you are tough. 8-8 No playoffs. He is a young coach that will learn at his players expense.

It's going to take a season or two for Harbaugh to get more of his type of guys in here, it doesn't happen over night.

It is also highly laughable you would be down own the tough camp when you were the one who coined the term 'camp-creampuff' you truly are a hack.

The gripe is that he throws out that he has taken some criticism, but never mentions from who. Who has criticized Harbaugh? The players? His column is the first time I have read any negative about the amount of hitting in camp. If you are going to throw out insinuations like that, they need to be backed up. A responsible journalist would do that.

We suck! Any QB who is back there will end up on his back all game! 3-13. I was being nice last week saying 4-12 but Preston is right. The O line on left sucks. Terry is a bust. Ankle still hurt? Didn't he get some off season conditioning? His work ethic is to just get paid. He is a bum!

I agree with you Scott. what is wrong with what he has stated? It's not a complaint, it's not praise and it's not a criticism, it's merely making a statement.

I don't agree with everything Preston writes, but it seems no matter what Preston writes, as long as the name Preston is on it, the attack dogs attack just for the sake of chomping on him.

I can't blame Harbaugh for his style. Billick was soft. He Never picked a QB and lost his team by mid season. We saw that when a Defensive Coordinator called a timeout during a pivital point in a agme in which we lost to a team at that point was undefeated. Coach Harbaugh will see the weak spotsin the O line and wide out and cornerbacks. and fix em or find new players that fit his mold. Our season is too tough to compete this year. Its Rays final hoorahh and he will get hurt? by week 7 ending his season and career in Baltimore.

What do you expect? The team is in a rebuilding year. The best thing you can do is watch the talent low and keep expectation low for this team this year.

Just heard that adam terry was carted off the field with a injury to that same ankle he had operated on. Look i don't want anybody to get hurt but injury or no injury this team wasn't going to win with those two tackles we have. I am sorry guy's but this all falls on Ozzie, he couldn't have thought for 1 minute that gaither and terry were going to be able to play effectively the entire 16 games. He made no attempt in the off season to upgrade that position at all. seriously outside of a major trade tell me who is going to start the season playing tackle Kraclic and cousins. I just don't understand how you could think that gaither was going to be able to play the second most important position on the field left tackle and terry who before the injury was a bust out draft pick anyway.

Looks like Troy Smith is the guy this year. He does the best job at running for his life. Good luck Raven's QB's.

Not sure how anyone can look at the offensive talent, espcially at o line, and be surprised at the situation the Ravens are in.

Same old same old. Sure Ozzie is on the horn with Pat Johnson, Kordell or maybe Ethan Brooks to fill the roster spots. Orlando Bobo and Sammy Williams are probably on the Greyhound to B-more.

Funny, the owner thinks this is a playoff team.

Hey, we had a great offensive line 10 years ago! Remember all that time Vinny had to throw...well, maybe not, that was a long time ago ;)

Wait, isn't this Billick's fault?

When is everyone gonna realize that this stuff falls on Ozzie. He's got nowhere to hide now.

The team came into the season with an unproven Gaither who displayed his immaturity all offseason by showing up late to weight sessions etc... Not to mention he's a project to begin with. On the right side you've got Terry who is clearly a LT and LT only. He was abused at RT in camp last year when he played there. Every report I read and actual reports from people at camp said he was clearly favoring that ankle. Now it looks like it's reinjured.

This offense lacks TALENT. No new scheme is gonna mask that. We've gone through countless players, coaches, coordinators, and now head coaches. That leaves one person standing and it's Ozzie Newsome.

People who think just a changing of the offense was gonna somehow be the magic pill are kidding themselves. Cam Cameron wouldn't of done crap with the offensive talent we've had over the years.

Are you illiterate or just stupid? He never said he was "down" on the tough camp. In fact, in the very next sentence he explained one reason WHY Harbaugh has to run a tough camp. Clearly, you will make up whatever you want to see in an article as an excuse to criticize the writer.
