Suggs is a great athelte, not a great mind! Who cares what he blathers about, I am sure Joe "cool" Doesnt.
There is a big difference between being Joe Cool when everybody on your team is behind you and trying to STAY cool when you know that all aren't. Questions like 'what will they think if I screw up?','how many players actually feel the way Suggs does?', and 'does this put me on a tighter leash?', creep into one's mind.
At this point in the season, what Suggs did was off the charts stupid and totally uncalled for no matter how he feels personaly.

i would take suggs opinion over any of yours you all call him dumb but trust me he knows the game better than any of you im not saying i agree with him im just saying he can say what he wants and what do you mean troy smith is a cfl player at best the baltimore ravens didnt seem to think so but i guess there opinion doesnt hold much weight next to your vast knowledge of the game suggs has seen allot more of smith and flacco than any of you and troy has pulled off some pretty sharp throws its not fair to come out and say he sucks he has great awarness and is very eluseve and can throw very effectivly on the move he won the heisman trophy so at the very least you know he can throw a football you dont win the heisman by sucking look at this point unless flacco really tanks next year the job is his but smith diserves a little respect if for nothing else then for the character he's shown after loseing the starting job to a sickness he never complained and he did what was asked of him

As you know, they did play Troy Smith on and off once he recovered. He could have been used more to run option plays with the other backs. Unfortunately, he was, is not, and will not be a better passer than Flacco. The Ravens will have a good backup QB in Bowler. They should trade Troy Smith for new blood in the secondary.

Playoff games obviously have two teams good enough to be there, so it comes down to intangibles.

A rookie quarterback is a negative in this situation, if facing a veteran of past playoff victories.

But then again, so is a quarterback who's spent most of the season on the bench.

Suggs doesn't seem to be destined for coaching greatness after his playing days are over. It's easy to make the call when your butt isn't the one on the line.
