Tom Powers,

Can you next time write about the water boy and ball boy?

Please don't try to start something bad with these Vikings receivers
they don't need your sympathy now that they have BF.

If he is getting a lot of catches that could be good or bad.
Good if it is because we are running the spread offense now and then, but not as a norm because of AP and CT. Bad if there are injuries to Rice, Harvin, or BB.

I said this before on this site and I'll say
it again. This was not a case where they
cut Bobby Wade for Greg Lewis. If you
feel you can pick up a good receiver on
waivers, you do; then you insert him into
the depth chart and cut whomever is now
at the bottom ot said depth chart. To
suggest Bobby Wade was suddenly on
the bottom of the depth chart is beyond
ludicrous, it is a flat out lie.

Childress cut Wade because he didn;t
like him - period. He flat out lied about
everything involved. You don't renegotiate someones contract to keep
him on the team and then turn around
and cut him for a guy on the waiver list.
And, on top of everything, DON'T PLAY
THE GUY YOU PICKED UP!!!!!

So, my friends who told me I was nuts
last time, am I still?

Nope, you right, and to add to that he was our leading reciever the year before and didn't suffer any major injury, you don't see that too often, maybe trade your leading reciever but flat out cut him, no, something else was going on here.

And before anyone fires back and says it was to make room for Harvin to get more playin time I know and also agree that Harvin needed to be on the field the majority of the time. It was still risky.

I wish we had quality corner backs sitting on the bench waiting a turn to get in the game, How come we have so many receivers but few defensive backs?

We have so many receivers because they probably think the score will be run up so high that they feel they dont need a defense.

Thats our coaching mentality which has always been weak ever since Mr Bud Grant retired. Its give the defense big cushions and let them catch from underneath the linebackers and secondary and let them get a good start for the goal line before anyone can catch them.

Stupid idiotic coaches... so many arm chair quarterbacks and others can coach better than what ours are. We need to be aggressive on offense AND defense for the ENTIRE game.

Bunch a woosies since they have moved indoors!

Imagine a five receiver set
BF at QB
AP as single RB
If not only we could get five offensive lineman that could block

Now if you see this as silly remember what Tom Brady did to Vikings a few years ago at Dome.

Just a quick note: Greg Lewis is actually the fourth-string receiver. Unless Bernard Berrian decided to retire and I missed it. Berrian's been solid this year, even if not as flashy as expected.

Wade was just terrible. He is the slowest receiver in the league, and his hands aren't even above average. His only asset was his ability to find holes in the defense and stop there. I cannot believe how many people are upset over the move.

Says who, YOU?

Kansas City snatched him up in a heartbeat and played him the very first game he was there. You saw his stats in the article. He
was, at least statistacally, the leading receiver the last two years. I'll say it a 3rd time; you don't go from number one to
the cut list overnight! Assuming we keep 5 receivers, he suddenly
became #6? Really?.........REALLY?

And, again, you don't renegotiate someones contract unless it is
to KEEP them on the team and help the salary cap; you do not renegotiate and then CUT! Supposedly Lewis (according to Childress) was an "upgrade" entirely because of his special teams
abilities. Maybe I missed it on the games he was on the INACTIVE
list..........what special teams did he play on those
games? Oh, and one..........that's right..........ONE catch
in 6 games..........wow!!! what an upgrade!!!! Good call, Chilly!

This isn't the first time Childress has lied..........
it's not the second..........
it's not the..........you get my point.

Oh, I give up!

Clueless please put a cork in it, you come in here spitting out facts as you see them with the intent to convince everyone else that what you say is the truth. I get it you have a problem with Childress, here is a simple solution, go root for another team, because unless you are Mr. Wilf this team is not your property to change because you are upset at a couple roster moves. I swear you must be a politician.

Tell you what, if you don't get it by now, I will put a cork in it.

I have a feeling that Wade's overall talent level is better than Lewis'. The big problem is that it's not $900,000.00 a year better - that's what the Vikes saved in the difference between the two salaries. Quite frankly, with Harvin, Berrian, Rice, and Favre's propensity to throw to Backs and tight ends (Shank), neither Wade's or Lewis' presence on the team was going to make a big difference in their overall success. They've also got J Johnson and Reynaud that are making big time contributions on special teams and playing for relative chump-change compared to Wade. If Lewis had been cut by the Pat's before Wade's salary renegotiation, Chilly would have made the move before the renegotiation - it's unfortunate for Wade how it turned out, but the move made very good sense for the team overall. If you want to be critical of the move and Chilly - they should have cut Wade to add depth/talent to the secondary instead of using the roster spot to acquire Lewis.

You know what, that is the first thing put forth that makes perfect sense.
I couldn't agree more.

Thanks, and enjoy the game today.

It will be OK with Wad. Next year is uncapped and teams will pay BIG bucks for mediocre WR. He will be in the dough somewhere.
