Oklahoma vs. Florida is worth the wait

Beginning tomorrow with four games, it's officially bowl season. Let's not waste time.

Most of the pundits are picking Florida to win the NC. They talk about the defense not being on par with Florida or the fact that they've lost 4 straight bowl games. I believe that the OU offense is second to NONE and that their defense has improved steadily since the Texas game. This is not the same team that played Texas. OU will be ready for this this game like no other from Coach Stoops to the last man on the field!! This will be their finest hour!!!

Florida is the best team in what is usually the strongest conference. Oklahoma is the best team in what is currently the strongest conference. The Big 12 South is the story of 2008, and that's really the bottom line in this affair. Florida is a great team, but the SEC features seven offenses ranked 91st or lower, five of which were on the Gators' schedule. Florida tortured Georgia's Matthew Stafford with three interceptions, but the Bulldogs still threw for nearly 300 yards. The Gators otherwise didn't face a quarterback better than Mississippi's Jevan Snead or Alabama's John Parker Wilson. Oklahoma's much-maligned defense, on the other hand, has run the gauntlet of Big 12 triggermen. Tim Tebow is an amazing player, but facing top-flight quarterbacks is just a weekly routine for the Sooners. For Florida's defense, which features nary a single senior starter, Sam Bradford and the Oklahoma receivers will be uncharted territory. The Oklahoma defense has taken its lumps this year, but the offense had most games put away before the opponent started scoring, plus the defense has improved dramatically since it lost leader Ryan Reynolds during the Texas game. Oklahoma is on a mission of redemption for past title-game defeats, and this time the Sooners have the goods to deliver.

Hey Sooners hope you win. I am an Alabama fan and you know we got a lot of bad calls . Florida can be beat, but you know you can't play refs also . Go get em sooners ,they can be beat. Hey there I just wanted to say I know this evenings game was tough. Utah played inspired football but I am EXTREMELY impressed with how Saban is turning them around. I'm sure their success will continue next year...and I certainly hope Oklahoma beats Florida too.

Hey, the Bucks danged near beat Texas WHO BEAT Oklahoma-long night for the Sooners on Thursday-hope I am wrong but don't think I am. USC is BY FAR the BEST team this year. They would beat the Gators by 10 points minimum.

I live very close here and follow the Gators. While I don't really like about 40% of their fans, I do like there team.......especially Urban Meyer. And if you don't like Tim Tebow, you are just flat out not American. The Bull Gators are just a revision to the Klu Klux Klan-their sheets are just orange and blue these days. USC would KILL the Gators. There are some chinks in the Gators armor-we'll see if OU can exploit them like Ole Miss did. I sincerely doubt it. The outcome of that game will prove nothing about USC vs. Florida. You have lost all logic my man. You are the one living in a world of make believe. If Florida wins, its OK, Texas beat them also ! If OU wins, then Texas should have been National Champs-correct ? OK, OSU danged near beat Texas, and should have, but were beat by USC 35-3 (a much greater score than the loss to Texas). So, let's you and I have a little bet, IF UF doesn't beat Oklahoma by at least 24 points, then you will agree with me that USC is the better team. USC is getting SCREWED by not being in the BCS Championship !! Not to mention, it is basically a homer game for Florida. Homer !

There are some major chinks in Florida's armor. Oklahoma is the best offense in the Big 12 and proved that when they beat TTU 60 something to 21. Ole Miss beat Florida and did not beat TTU that badly. Sure it doesn't work that way but I'm just working by Swamplizards logic. If this is the case Oklahoma actually SHOULD beat florida and not even in a close match. I doubt that'll happen though because I have no faith in the swooners. I agree with you about USC I doubt any of those teams would even be close to USC their defense is just that good.

If history repeats itself this cycle we're seeing will be a change starting this NC game in which a new conference starts dominating. My feelings are that it really is the year of the Big 12. But Florida and their team are winners and my first question is can Bradford handle their pressure? If he can then Florida is in trouble if he can't then Oklahoma is.

I love hearing opinions from you guys!! Funny. Simply put...Florida has a MUCH better defense than Oklahoma...even you monkeys will agree to that. Secondly...Florida's offense is better that the Sooners (you will learn this after the game tomorrow).

And Bubba...I'll get right back to you with some statistics to mull over - Let's not forget you lost to OREGON STATE for crying out loud!!!!!! USC is good but probably 3rd.
