Yeah that does creates a problem...(small games)could it be USC is playing down to their competition? and has a hard time getting up for the game?<quoted text>Oklahoma State putting up 27. They got only 7 on Penn State's staring defense. They totaled 14. Troy had 731 yards prior week. Poeple in glass houses should not cast stones.Pete Carrol can not win small games.
Or consider the PAC-10 teams know USC better:
In the last 3 years prior to recent.
1.vs. Cal lost in OT - 2005 BCS Bowl team
2.vs. OSU lost going for 2 pt conv - 2006 BCS Team OSU beat a Daniels led Missu team in bowl game and won.
3.vs.UCLA lost 2006 - Unacceptable
4.vs.Stanfod 2007 - Unacceptable
5.vs.Oregon 2007 - Oregon was #1 when USC played them before QB Dixon went down. Very good team.
6.vs.OSU 2008 - Unacceptable
Outside of the last 3 losses which ones were the small games?
Only 3 of 6 games in the last 3 year were IMO.
All the losses except for the one vs. Texas in the NC game were PAC-10 opponents.
On the flipside I would imagine that the BIG-10 Schools know Ohio State better because they play them every year and know their tendencies overall.
Final point since Pete Carroll has been at USC he
has never lost to the BIG-10
1.Michigan twice both routs - 2007 & 2005
2.Illinois worst rout - 2008
3.Ohio State - 2008
By the way, fightfan, good win on Saturday vs the Caddyshack Gophers~!=)
