Stuffing the run | The Columbus Dispatch

Full story: Columbus Dispatch

The Buckeyes' run defense isn't all about the defensive line. Talented running back Evan Royster of Penn State found that out when confronted by linebacker Austin Spitler, left, and safety Kurt Coleman.

I guess we'll have to take things one game at a time. Can't beat that Top Five non-conference team if we don't get to the dance to start with. A certain Florida Gator fan we all know and loathe can give us all the "reality" he wants, but reality, as I see it, is the job is only done. Penn State's down, next it's Iowa, then Michigan, and finally that Top Five non-conference opponent You Know Who loves to crow about.

I'm kinda praying it'll be against USC again. OSU's got some unfinished business with those dudes.

I think the best thing we Buckeye fans should do is to ignore Gary Hator and other non-fans who just want see their names re-posted on our site.
Let's just support the Bucks and pool our energy by showing our Buckeye Pride!

I with you Dude. I live down south and I liked you last statement on the post which was "Bless your heart" which we both know is a euphemism for, "The boy is a moron."

OSU PRIDE, Yes, OSU PLayers should take a lot of pride in winning the "WEAK 11". They should also take a lot of pride in being the DOORMAT for BCS BOWL TEAMS. Finally, they should take the most pride in being the most over-ranked football team in the NCAA. OSU will beat Iowa and Michigan easily,(probably be ranked 6), then on to the ROSE BOWL to be the DOORMAT for a PAC-10 TEAM. Buckeye fan can sit up in Ohio and bask in the glory of another "WEAK 11" Championship and live in Fantasy Football Land that the Buckeyes could actually copmpete in the SEC but then reality occurs when OSU plays a BCS BOWL Game and their weeknesses of slow, unathletic players and average coaching exposes OSU for what they really are: Just an above average team in a weak conference. GO GATORS!!!
So Gay-tor Gayry;
One should not be running his mouth with the Red Tide about to come in and stink up your beach. What comes around goes around so enjoy it now it won't last. Go run your crap somewhere else. And come back when you have SEVEN NCs.

I dont remember many of Coopers teams being dominant on defense. I know there were some very dominant players, but as a unit it seemed like a couple times a year an opposing team would go off against us.

The offense under Cooper was a different story. They were fun to watch most of the time, unlike the Tressel era, where I am bored to death most of the time.

If we had that dominant running back that Tressel desperately needs for his offense to work, this team would probably be the best team in the country. The defensive line is probably the best I have ever seen at Ohio State. If they completely shut down Iowa and Michigan, I think people can begin to talk about this being one of the top 5-10 defenses in OSU history.
