Congratulations to Troy Polamalu. He is a great player and the award is well deserved. However, in the ultimate team game of football individual awards such as this are as much an honor to the team as to the individual. Troy acknowledged that fact and I commend him for that.

Steelers players have won the award 2 of the last 3 seasons. That is quite an accomplishment and a testament to the quality defense that the Steelers play. A Packer player won the award last year and another finished second this season, also a testament to the quality of the Packer defense. The number 1 and 2 scoring defenses this season are playing for the NFL Championship. That is as it should be. It has all the makings for an exciting and great football game.

Agreed.

Congrats. I'm a fan of both players. They've been major factors for their respective teams. Sunday should be a classic. They are my (1) Packers and (2) Steelers favorite teams, and have been since I was a kid.

troy wasn't 100% healthy also the DC had him deep down the field the whole game so he couldn't make those game changing plays he usually makes, it would be different if he was 100%.
