I think this is a terrible poll!!!!!
And this is why:
1) Pre-chosen 'bad boys' were on the list which sways you to choose them. I know there is the 'other' category but you've already been trained to choose the listed folks.
2) What does 'mean' translate to....a hard-hitting very intense football player OR someone (as described by dictionary.com ) who is offensive, selfish, or unaccommodating; nasty; malicious.
Just because Hines Ward is the hardest-hitting receiver in the league and the defense isn't used to it....he is determined to be mean. And there is quite a bit of intense-confrontational behaviour by LOTS of football players....what makes one mean and others OK.

The Steelers are very gifted in the art of the cheap shot. They can turn a simple crack-back block into a career ending injury. Just ask Hines Ward. They can turn an encroachment penalty into a quarterback breaking his leg 3 seconds after the whistle is blown. Ask Harrison. But their most important gift is turning the art of a superbowl win into a loss

oh really? so a 6-2 super bowl record doesn't cut it in your little mind right? lol! you only wish you rooted for a team that had six lombardis. too bad the mighty steelers didn't get 8 victories but if history is any indication, they will be back to get ring 7.

He is who he is. You don't have to like him. The Steelers have always been mostly above the average team ever since the organization started. You can't say that the Steelers aren't good when we've obtained the most Super Bowl trophies. You just can't accept the fact that we are dynamite. Something you wish you team was.

I think this Poll is way off and there are a lot of other players that should be up there. People just cant stand the fact that Harrison Hits hard just as they hate the fact that Ward (a receiver) hits at all?
In my opinion there are far Meaner players than Harrison. Suggs (Ravens) has zero mercy. He's worse than James. People that think James is the meanest have to ask themselves what it is they don't like and if they're really honest it comes down to Jealously that he doesn't play for their team!!!!!!!!!!
