Jones was neevr a big-time winning coach. His humilation at SMU is to be expected.

Give him time to get his system and players in place. He will turn SMU around.

When will it be time when the newspapers stop covering SMU? Does this mean that we should expect a write-up of every UH and SMU game in the future?

The Mustangs of SMU stayed with the Gators on even terms for the lst quarter, then committed every turnover in the books in the next three. The Freshman QB showed lots of guts and maturity for his age. Mark my word, give JJ another year (forget 2008), and he will put SMU on the radar. This year is a learning curve for the team and JJ. I hope the SB sports continue to write and cover SMU football, its enjoyable reading, for me at least.

I stand corrected, my comments was meant to state "Owls" instead or "Gators". Still have JJ running the Warriors. Sorry Coach Mac, I watched your game as well.

Does anyone expect either coach to win their debut game? Statistically no. If they had win, they would be gods. Since they lost, they are now written off?? Hello, gotta be realistic here.
