Jason Campbell and the Oakland Raiders Are Primed To Take the AFC West

There are 3 comments on the BleacherReport story from Aug 5, 2010, titled Jason Campbell and the Oakland Raiders Are Primed To Take the AFC West. In it, BleacherReport reports that:

When Winston Churchill wrote, "there is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction," it's within reason that he was prophesying about the Oakland Raiders making a trade for Jason Campbell and releasing Jamarcus Russell this summer.

Great article! I agree they made a lot of good choices in the of season. After watching the mini camp and feedback and press releases; I do believe that this is the first year of the comeback for the Silver and Black!!! I predict 9-7 season with a shot at the playoffs.

Trying to tie the Winston Churchill quote to the Raiders is just plain silly. Huge stretch to get an attention grabber. Also, does anyone proofread your work? You have more than a couple of typos and some glaring mistakes in subject matter.
But taking all that out of it, you do present a pretty good thesis about Raider success. I think the Raiders go 8-8, but do pretty good in a very weak AFC West. If San Diego implodes, like your argument implies, then the Raiders get a shot at the playoffs. The Raiders need one more solid draft to get some help on the O-line before they can truly take command of their division.

I agree with you but the OL is still iffy to me. I think we did a lot to improve the defense and that will help eliminate a lot of big plays that burned us in the past. I think that Trevor Scott at LB is a good thing. Lamar Houston and Rolando McClain have been impressive in camp. It seems that they've been working Richard Seymour at DT so that kind of makes me wonder about the status of John Henderson. Either way as long as we stay healthy I think we can have a 9-7 record.
