What concerns me the most about the Bears is wondering who evaluates talent, recommends drafting said talent and who then buys into it. As a former amateur and small college athlete, I feel "intangibles" play a much bigger part in evaluating talent than anyone would care to admit. And it is seldom mentioned because some would use the "profiling card" to prohibit such use. For example, Cedric Benson's body language, hair style, laid back attitude and apparent "low pilot light" remind me very much of Ricky Williams. And I must admit that I contrast many atheletes with the qualities of Walter Payton, Gale Sayers, Michael Jordan, Dick Butkus, Mike Ditka, Mike Singletary, etal. Were they perfect? No, but who is? I am just saying that it has to be tough to base a drafting decision if you go soley by athletic performance and numbers. And before I get crucified, let me add that I very much want Benson to succeed. I just keep remembering the way "Sweetness" would stay in-bounds and lower his shoulder into the defender and be such a tough runner with a lot of heart.

Cedric Benson was just one of many Bears useless draft choices.

So Hester "can't get lined up correctly", and "can't run proper pass routes" !!

Remember, we're almost through a complete season !!

Either he is one of the most mentally defective players that I have ever come across,----- OR, the Bear's coaching staff doesn't know how to "teach" worth a c*r.a*p !!

Get some kindergarten teachers out there --- they know how to teach !!

They don't know much about football,---- but neither do the Bear's coaches !

Next season simply does not look good. If the Vikings continue to improve as they have been and the Lions manage to become consistent winners (not to mention the Pack could remain solid even without Farve) our division will slay us. We seem to need too many positions fixed now...Though I do believe the O-line and a running back ought to be priority and despite Rex's faults I don't think there is a realistic option out there that will help much.

Kosmo Kramer has it right about Benson. There were issues in his background that shed light on how determined he would be to make the grade in the NFL. He is reported to have signed a minor league contract witht the Dodgers, took the bonus money and never showed up to practice or play. The Bears should have "discovered" this in their due diligence on the guy (if they even bothered to do due diligence). What would someone like that do with a $17 million signing bonus to play pro football? Just asking...

Ok, I will take a shot at evaluating Garret Wolfe utilizing my "intangibles" theory: He is a small-sized man and has had to fight for everything he has earned to prove others wrong; his body is carved and formed due to determination, discipline and dedication; he is optimistic with instinctive quickness and understands how to concentrate= we need to play him as much as possible these last three games on offense to see if we have another Warrick Dunne in the making...Then make your decision...
