Solid pickup. Like Angelo noted, not a need, but it was a good grab. Still could use another WR talent (obviously), but the team is shaping up as well as we could've expected when last season finished. There's now an elite, top 10 NFL QB on the roster, what looks to be an improved OL, what should be a better run game with Kevin Jones as a healthy number 2 this year, better defensive depth.

Ill take it! Izzy is Solid and Pisa is instinctually great... LOL I wonder if instincually is even a Word! I would like Burress if available?! He's a Proven Playmaker, but if we don't pick up anyone, Fine! Cutler will pick teams apart, if not Forte WILL, pick your poison opposing D's!!! Hahahahaaaaa

Da Bears!

Definitely not needed, but a solid pick-up.

Considering we made the Superbowl worse off at TE, QB, LB, and RB, anything less than another NFC championship will be a letdown. Go Bears.

Everything falling in place.

Now..........
If only the coaching staff could stop loosing 4 games per season thru their sheer inability to call the right plays both offensively and defensively.
If only Lovie could figure out how to make his Cover-2 defense work in a league that has already figured out how to play against it.
Cover-2, just like the 46, has seen its days.
I predict that the offense will improve and put smiles on all of us fans. But the defense will still find itself struggling in the 4th from being on the field too long...a trait of the cover-2 defense.
Yeah...they will make the playoffs...but the cover-2 is going to have a hard time stopping the good teams in the playoffs.
Maybe we will get lucky and see lovie fired after this season.

It has been an excellent off-season for the Bears on paper. Now I hope that can translate into wins on the field. I got a feeling it will and the Bears will be the team to beat come January 2010. Let's Go Bears!

Lets all say they get away from cover 2! let Rod take over Defense and Lovie just maybe crack a smile so we know he's alive out there! LOL Since Lovies been here everyone thinks that the Monster Left the Midway! He's TOO DAMN SOFT LOOKING for a Chicago Bears Coach..... I think the 46 would work again! Watch what Rex's does with the Jets (some of Daddys old stuff) Tuff D-Baby
well anyway lets go Bears play-off bound

Lovie is at it again. He has added another post-prime ex-Ram player but this time to the defense. Pisa joins way post-prime Orlando Pace, and sub-prime Miller and St. Clair in the Rams refugee camp.

Lovie: Try adding a few new pages in your rolodex.

I think that may be the plan. After four or five games, Lovie will come out and say it's too much for him to be head coach as well as defensive play caller, and that Rod will start defensive play calling and be promoted to assistant head coach/DL coach, then after the end of the season it will change to Asst. HC/Def. Coordinator.

Pisa is 27 or 28 years old! How is that past your prime for a LB?

Its not that the cover-2 has been figured out!! The cover-2 gets exposed if you cannot get pressure on the QB and that was the Bears problem last season! Marinelli has been brought in to fix that problem. The defense will return to one of the best in the league when the DL begins dominating again! Pressure on the QB is the key!

Some of you are morons point blank. How is Pisa going to be a back-up? The guy is going to start because he is a tackling machine and two Roach or Hunter are pathetic linebackers. Second Lovie is a soft coach? Does this mean you have to tackle people on the sidelines or have a scowl on your face the whole game? Simply Brilliant some of you goons are !

I get so sick of people harping on Lovie, just because he doesnt flip out on the sidelines when things go wrong?? These same people are roadies of the media and thrive on controversy. Players have come out & said that Lovie does get on the team in the locker room. Lovie is respected by players because he respects them. He doesnt tear down the players in public,he keeps it in house, like a good coach should do. I would rather have a coach who is in control and doesnt make decisions based on anger! Mike Ditka type coaching doesnt work anymore in todays NFL. A coach like that will lose his players and the team nowadays. Mike Singletary was asked if he will coach like he played. He said NO,it doesnt work in todays NFL with the players nowadays. Lovie also has the most wins behind only the Giants in the last 4 years, even without star talent on the team. The guy has won 2 division titles and a Superbowl appearance as well. Lovie has never had a roster of stars which makes it even more impressive. The players in the NFL rank Lovie as one of the top coaches players would like to play for. This year Lovie actually has some talent,so lets see what he does this year! This year Lovie will have us on top again,So let go of your hate & anger and Relax!! Take care fellow Bear fans. BEAR DOWN! GO BEARS,2009 DIVISION CHAMPIONS!!

It doesn't matter what defense the Bears play if they can put pressure on the quaterback. Angelo and the boys are serious about winning championships. This is the best off- season I've been a part of in my 46 years of living and loving Bears Football!

WOW,Lets Keep it going Bears,Yeah!! May isnt even over and we got all but 2 draft picks signed already. Pisa is a Big addition to our defense. We have struggled a bit to find the compliment to Briggs and Urlacher. Now with Pisa signed we will have one of the best linebacking corps in the NFL. He is fast and a tackling machine, which we needed. This is a huge upgrade from Roach and Hillenmeyer. What an incredible offseason so far,and Angelo's not even done yet. Angelo is waiting for a receiver to be released somewhere, then I think they will jump on it & sign one. I cant imagine any true Bear fan complaining right now! Our Defense will be back with the coaching changes and players we have added. Plus add a top ten offense now and our Bears will Dominate this year all three Phases Baby. I cant wait for the season to start. Take care Bear fans. BEAR DOWN!! GO BEARS,2009 DIVISION CHAMPS!

I am with you Bear brother. You have got me by 3 years. I have been a die hard Bear fan for 43 years now. I agree that This has to be one of the best offseasons we have had in quite a long time,it is exciting. I am so pumped up and the Bears Players & Coaches seem to be as well, with the offseason moves, coaching changes & draft! No off the field issues or contract saga's with hold outs and what not. Everyone is just feeling good working hard and ready to play some Football. Take care. BEAR DOWN! GO BEARS,2009 DIVISION CHAMPIONS!

Hey,DeJaVu,you need to get a Clue. Miller and St.Clair are not even on the team anymore. We replaced them with Omiyale 27 yr old & Sheffer 28 yr old. Plus Having a 7 time Pro bowler protecting Cutler with 3 years left in him is Not a bad thing Idiot! Then you add Olin Kreutz and our 1st rd pick Chris Williams and we now have a Solid & deep O-Line! Who cares if we sign a Rams player? There are good players on every team, that is just stupid! Instead of talking try listening and maybe you will learn something about Football. BEAR DOWN! GO BEARS 2009 DIVISION CHAMPS!

If the Bears have better a pass rush this year the defensive backfield will have a better year. Pisa will definitely help the defense. The guy is fast which is what you want in a cover 2 defense--linebackers that can make plays all over the field. The Bears, at least at the linebacker position, are getting it right.

As for the offense. Let me just say if Jay Cutler is Moses leading the Bears' offense out of the desert then I hope Ron Turner stops being Pharaoh
and free the Bears' offense. It's time to use all the playbook because the Bears have a qb that can unleash hell on the opponent. So, no more Jason McKie fullback dives...ever.

Why do people insist on obtaining a wr? QBs make wide receivers. I think Hester is going to have great year. Not mention Forte. If Forte dont the pro bowl this year I will be shocked. So think about it do we really need a Wr from another team? NO! Hester, Olsen, Forte, Clark....anyone else will be an addition. BEAR DOWN!!!!!
