Cutler should be fine, people forget what a jerk Jim McMahon was with fans (I personally experience it on a number of occasions) and so long as he produced on the field and the Bears won everything was ok. Having said that it would be wise of Cutler's agent to help him grow up about this.

We finally get the perfect player for John Madden to butcher his name and he's retired. Damn the luck!

I agree with James. I also don't think that people should hound these guys for autographs all the time. I'm sure they get it everywhere they go. There's a time and place, don't be bitter if you don't get you want.

Hope the Bears can pull down a decent receiver. I was looking at the FA list of receivers and there are still some pretty decent to good ones out there. At least people serviceable.

You can't tell me there are 96 quarterbacks on NFL rosters more qualified than Grossman.

LOL why dont you find a job for him? You think NFL is stupid like you following blindly on Rex..

So give him your salary then.. Okay.

Butkus said that?? He'd be an undersized, situational defensive tackle if he were in the league today. In addition, he couldn't get away with all the "dirty" tactics he utilized back in the stone age.

Although the thought of grown ass men hounding athletes for autographs is silly to me, I guess I can understand why some of them do it. If Cutler refuses to make time for kids, it would give me second thoughts about his character. Hell, I get tired of pestering ass adults and I'm not even famous.

May 31? How am I reading this story before it is written?

Can the Bears borrow Samardzija from the Cubs? They aren't using him and he'd be exactly the kind of receiver they need.

Dvoracek, a high character guy??? First off, let me state that when the Bears drafted him I liked the pick and had him entrenched at that slot in all my mock drafts. Now, I'm not hating on the guy by no means, but, Dvoracek drunkenly beat some guy in college to the extent that the guy was permanently some what crippled. And, accordingly, the witnesses said that the guy had done nothing wrong, that Dusty went off the rails in a drunken furor and savagely beat some guy a lot smaller than he was.
Now, I always liked the fact that when Dusty confronted his alcoholism he did it on his own. He didn't need a twelve step program or to surrender himself to a higher spiritual authority. He just manned up and stopped himself on strength of will alone. Admitting that you alone are responsible for your actions has a much deeper and enduring effect than acting like it is some "force" beyond your control. But, you cannot just forget what he has done in the past when it has such long lasting cosequences as maiming a guy for life. I am sure that Haugh has derided players as being low character guys for much less than this. Anyways, I'm sure in the long run that Haugh won't get it because the ego that goas along with most all media guys just can't be challenged in their own little world. It just always seems that these "discrepencies" always coincide with the reality of "I'm white so you're wrong.", If you know what I mean.

Spoken like a true youngster who never actually saw Butkus play. No one has ever played the game in quite the same way or with the pure "killer instinct". Size didn't matter, you need to watch some film of his "take no prisoners" hitting style. Ask anyone who ever played against him. You needn't take MY word for it!

I know you must be on the Bear's payroll. This is all about Smith getting another over-the-hill St. Louis bum. They need a receiver, not a linebacker.

Tinoisamoa is 28, how is that "over the hill?" Kyle? Yes, you are right, the Bears need WR's badly. but does that mean that Angelo should pass up someone who can help the Bears D? L-S has his name on the line this year taking over DC duties. do you think he wants an "over the hill bum" to start for him? it's not like Lovie doesn't have a clue as to what this guy brings, having coached him first hand. he is an upgrade over both Roach and Hillermyer. this can only help!

Good luck with Pisa. I just don't see him as an NFL Linebacker. Too small, too injury prone, and can't tackle. He may be a high motor guy, but he spends too much time lying on the turf than he does on his feet

I pretty much agree with IndyJones. Lovie has an idea of how he wants his defense to work. Whether it's right or not who knows, but he does know what type of players make how "his" defense play better.

As far as looking for a WR instead, I agree the Bears need a WR too, but why does it have to be WR or ELSE?! it can be everything. the bears weren't exactly amazing on D last year.

Unless the Bears offense and defense are #1 in both categories, there will always be need for improvements. so just hope that anyone they sign will improve the team.

he is pretty small, but he does have the stats, and hopefully playing alongside 2 Pro Bowl Calibur LBs will help free him up more.

Remember back when the Bears had that dominating LB core of Holdman, Colvin, and Urlacher. Holdman became a Pro Bowler like Colvin and Urlacher. When Holdman left the team he was a shell of his former self on Redskins.

I'm not saying that this LB core of older Urlacher and Briggs is better than the younger version Ur and younger healthy Colvin, but the Rams basically have no one on defense to help out Pisa. Thus his inflated numbers.
