Decade of Oakland Raider first round draft picks

Looking back at the last decade first round picks is a painful process for the Raider Nation.

Nnamdi Asomugha and Robert Gallery have been the best ones in recent years. I thought Phillip Buchannon was a good corner as well as returner. The only ones that I call true busts are Derrick Gibson and Michael Huff. I think a lot was the bad coaching from the Norv Turner era and defensive players continued to show bad signs in Rob Ryan's defense. Tyler Brayton is proof of that because he went to Carolina and was a key part of their defense. I think Buchannon and Napolean Harris lost confidence under Norv Turner and Rob Ryan and never could regain it. It's too early to judge Russell and McFadden....

Resigning Nnamdi Asomugha was a blessing. He should make the Pro Bowl again. As for Russell, glad he is on the roster because it could be worse (Broncos). But this year HAS to be his year to show a biger improvement. We cant blame a poor season on the fact that the schedule was tougher this year. Make or break in '09.
