Here is the key words Hobo Kelly "trying to make Irish contender". Bruins and Irish have been trying to come up with something other then a rabbit out of their worthless hats they think are magic for years now

Wow, August 2010? Really Dan? While I commend the Irish on finally beating the Trojans, your boys need to beat us a couple more times before the public observation would sway from the Trojans recent years of dominance. But I think the need for this rivalry being competitive is good for college football. It certainly urks those SEC and Big Ten egomanicas that feel anything outside of their conference is not worthy

Well the fact that the USC vs Notre Dame game has decided more National Championships then any other game is a hit on the SEC's confidence and the fact that it has been lopsided for over 20 years causes a problem, with the game more competitive and more on the line the more attention it will draw and the more attention it will draw away from the SEC. I have said it before, USC should go independent as should Texas (they might) and Alabama might be able to. It is a whole lot better being able to play whoever, whenever you want. If you have a hard schedule it's because you want it. Being in a conference is just saying I like a security blanket. More schools going independent would help crush the BCS. I don't mind the idea I just don't like the conference ties. The 10 highest ranked teams should be playing in the games reguardless of conference. That might mean some conference will have 3 teams playing from time to time in BCS games but so what. It also might mean that we don't have to put up with the ACC or Big East putting in someone that shouldn't be there over a Boise State or TCU etc.
