Irish look to build on defensive turnaround

Brian Kelly's No. 1 task when taking the Notre Dame job was pretty simple. Even during the hiring process, Kelly said he was asked repeatedly, "How are you going to fix the defense?" "Like a business, Notre Dame wasn't balancing the books," he said.

Looking forward to see the D shine. Looking even more foward to Crist being back and offense shines as the Defense dominates.

Notre Dame is going to be rough on a bunch of teams this year, especially those that were able to run on ND in the past. That is over, I think they will have one of the best D's in all of football next year, they are either improved or as good at every single position that allowed just one TD over the last 4 games of the season last year.

The D should be really good this year. Blanton is at worse as good as walls, he has a knack for big plays, our safety positions is going to be even better and that goes for LB. The D-line is deep and talented. The only thing that I am worried about remotely is how thin we are at RB. I think Wood is poised for a brake out season and Allen isn't buried on the depth chart so he is get the reps he needs to improve, Jackson getting injured hurts. I know that he could be back at some point but is would be nice to have him ready to go come August and that just probably isn't going to happen. I am a little worried about a few teams early, if Dick Rod was there, Michigan would be an Easy W but he isn't so we are going to be playing a team again that we can't judge by film, we should still win based on talent but I would feel better if they had four or five games for us to look at when preparing to play them. I am really curious about Stanford. I am just not worried about them as much as everyone else seems to be. The teams that I am are Michigan State, Boston College and USC. I can't wait until the first whistle is blowed.
