didn't see the game and probably wont have chanc to wach the replay on nfl network but i watched several high-light videos on-line. TJack looked ok...the first long completion to BB was behind the reciever, had it been in front probably TD...the fisrt catch by Rice was a 5 yd pass on 3rd and 10 where the d-back fell down....seems Chilly didn't learn from his mistakes last season; 3rd and long you pass beyond first down marker, DUH.... Shanko had anothe Dropo, this one a fumble. that has to stop....yea i know , i'm picking nits...game ment nothing.... passing O looks good... TJack looks improved... superbowl here we come...GO VIKINGS

Bad news first... Overall, the Vikes played poorly. They literally looked like a bunch of kids being overrun by men, this was NOT a shining moment for the Beloved Purple. The Seahawks looked bigger, tougher, stronger, faster, and the final score reflects that. They ran at will through the Vikes vaunted #1 rushing defense, they passed effectively, and their rushing defense was solid against Chester Taylor. I hope the Vikes were deliberately laying back, or this doesn't bode well for the season.

On the good side! Tavaris Jackson was smokin'! Like most Vikes fans, I was holding my breath on the first series, but I loved what I saw. Tarvaris came out of the box like a proper gunslinger, Shianco's fumble was totally Shianco's fault. The next two series were all about Tarvaris, pass after beautiful pass, hard and sharp, he was a general, marching the troops downfield. The chemistry with Berrian and Wade was excellent. His fallbacks after the snap were ridiculously fast, his rolls out of the pocket were smooth and confident, and he was down-checking the recievers well. I'm feeling a LOT better about T-Jack as the future of the Vikings.

Did I mention that Shianco's fumble was Shianco's fault? A couple more like that and he should look for a new line of work, even if it is 'just a pre-season game'. Ferrotte looked like the 15-year veteran he is, with the experience and capability to play the opposition, while being a bit overly protective of himself. Taylor looked alright, but O-line was ineffective and that severely limited him. Peterson, who never carried, was keyed on and swarmed every time he took a faked ball.

Assuming that the Seahawks fielded their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th strings against the same from the Vikes, either the Vikes deliberately layed back or the Seahawks are going to be phenomenal this year. Either way, GO VIKINGS!

Now we can see how important Pat Williams is in run defense. The fact he did not play makes me feel a little better about the poor showing stopping the run.

T-Joke as the starter, Gus the back up. We're doomed... another wasted season, Only good thing is Farve is on a one year agreement with the Jets. Go Farve next year!!!
Nobody in Minnesota wants Favre 288, as he is washed up and his nose is growing from all the lies.

Watching Tavaris yesterday tells me that in 2008 he is a better qb then the over the hill Brett.

Hmmmm. Worried about the D. It usually takes the offenses longer to get clicking. So, Hasselbeck shreding the pass D is a huge concern, even if it is the first game. We'll be at the game next week. If Troy Smith shreds the pass D, then we'll have a reason to worry.

A 'dead fish in the locker room'? Tell us O wise one, what the heck does that mean? The score was tied at half time, with the stats virtually equal, so how does this equal 'overall the Vikings were seriously outplayed by the Seahawks'?
I understand that the scrubs were outplayed in the second half, but just how does that reflect on the starters?
It would seem that you would have been even happier to write a story about how Tarvaris failed when it is you Tom, who fails every time you sit at the keyboard.

Good grief. Relax people. It's the preseason. It's vanilla defense and offense and lets be honest. The vets assured of a roster spot aren't going full out and risk an injury. It's a glorified practice. The only guys going 110% are the rookies vying for a spot. It would be like judging a player based on the Pro Bowl. Take a breath and wait until Sept 8th to make a judgement.

I don't think it's stupid. He hit the nail on the head. I don't care who you are, if you were a Vikings fan you were at least mildly concerned with how Jackson was going to play tonight... and he did alright. Yes, even if it was against a vanilla defense, he showed he could make the throws under pressure and Berrian was catching the long balls like we brought him in to do.

And yes, the defense played like crap. I don't know what's up with that. I wanted a better idea of how they would play this season.

On defense, you have to look at who was playing and who wasn't. The purpose was to look at a lot of guys and we did that. The goals for preseason games are not the same as those during the season. Seneca Wallace, a very capable QB played most of the game. For us, BB & the newbie. The five turnovers were terrible and put us in some wholes where our incomplete defensive unit couldn't make the stops. This was a great start for TJack and if he continues with consistent improvement these postings will contain much less of the repeated unintelligent and outright stupid comments, posted by repeatedly stupid people. Rather, let's focus on the positive and send our best to Heath Farwell. It was great to see him playing linebacker while it lasted.

How would you know Vegas boy? Lots of Minnesotans still want Favre. Anyone would be an improvement over T-Joke. The fact that you base your opinion on three series in a meaningless preseason shows what a novice you are. Wait till midseason - we'll all see the real T-Joke once again.

If you live out of the area, you probably wouldn't have had the benefit of hearing the Childress interview Friday afternoon. He TOLD the vets not to exert themselves too much, and that he was concentrating on the pass game. Frazier said that he was doing the same on defense. Wanted to mostly see what the physical abilities were. - Taking all of that into consideration, it looked pretty good. An excellent replacement for M. Moore, by the looks of it. They were strong on special teams. (The Heath Farwell thing has me alittle worried) TJax looked pretty good. Allen did a great power run on the QB that was only a split second too late. Allison looks great. Berrian looks like he's supposed to. Frerotte looked good. Booty looked like a rookie, but showed some pretty interesting stuff. (and a few stupid rookie things too) - Not to worry. The Seahags were playing it like it was regular season. The Vikings played it like preseason. They did exactly what Childress said they were going to do. Easy on the vets, heavily test the passing game.

the question is, are you going to be saying that at the end of the season. and if he does actually do pretty decent, it wont look too good for you.

If this was starter-a-starter, 1st string vs. 1st string reg. season contest...we would have had a game. Vikes "O", WITHOUT a single touch from AP in the 1st quarter, was impressive. When you see Hawks D-ends having to pusue downfield, you know the Vikes pass game was working.

Fire Childress really needs to get a life, unless that's not an option for him. If not, call where he is institutionalized and get them to change channel on the social room tv to maybe something Canadian. He continues to be so boring and irrelevant and annoying. Perhaps that is the goal of a sociopath.

Arch, thanks for the Childress clarification. Obviously I am way out of the area, but never far from the Vikes in my heart. I too am concerned about HFar and admire him greatly.

Fire Childress, may I add nobody that knows the quarterback position wants Brett 288. What will come first Favre's 300th interception or be benched? I can't wait til Childress gets his new contract to make you Fire Childress, look even more wrong then you are.

I love it when you twist in the wind. If TJ would have had a bad night you would have certainly been the first one on here saying "I told you so" But when it goes good for him then it's "only three series in a meaningless game" So tell us oh wise one if Favre sucks this year what excuses do you have ready for him?.... You are the Joke Pal.....
