Full story: TwinCities.com

Former Vikings receiver Cris Carter, who immediately and accurately announced on ESPN last Tuesday that Brett Favre would start against the Kansas City Chiefs, had another bold prediction.

Childress & BF have known each other for a long time. Add Bevell to the mix, and what you have is BF basically getting the golden key to the crapper, as far as leeway to audible.

With Brett Favre, the playbook will be on Ebay come Super Bowl time because it wont be used there since he wont be playing in it.

I'm fired up - but he still should have attended camp - this would all be that much easier.

Brett Favre will sling the ball all over the place. With the offensive line he has in front of him, a great stable of running backs, the tight ends, not to mention the receivers he has....WOW!! This team is going to be fun to watch on both sides of the ball! GO VIKES!

Cris Carter is right. We Vikings fans knew that this was so. How can Brad Childress expect for TJack to be the QB when he won't open up the playbook all the way to him? He will always be two steps behind. Brad better hope that Brett Favre will work, because if he doesn't, your HC job is toast in Minnesota.

I sometimes wondered in the past if the Vikings "vanilla" offense was called that way because that is all the QB's could handle. If Childress continues to make bonehead plays this year we'll know if it's that or just unimaginative play calling.

We saw the same 4 plays over and over for the last 3 years lets hope Childress was holding back or we will be watching another boring vikings offense again

well, I am all game for whatever works but lets face facts. How many 40 year old QBs have switched teams and THEN went to the SB. Only one I can think of and that was dumb luck. I hope it goes well but really I think Brett is a buffer between the half-bass QBs we currently have and another solution.

The "vanilla" offense still managed to win 10 games last year. With a few more play options included in the playbook and the addition of Harven, there should be a few more wins in there somwhere. Also with the return of Henderson on defense and Farwell on special teams I'm pumped about how this team will allow fewer points also. Concerns for me are still the offensive line and defensive backs. If there is improvement there and injuries are at a minimum, this team should compete for top spot in the division against the Bears and the Pack.

Yes, this moron posts on every football article. He is Sage Rosenfail fan #1. Just ignore his terribly unfunny comments.

Vikings just "love" Brett Favre!!!!!!!

Chilly should cut all the other 3 remaining QB's and coax Dan Marino and Joe Montana out of retirement for backups!!!!!!!!!!

Rather than leaving the same comment over and over, why don't you make an intelligent point about why you are so mad that Favre is here? Would the Vikings have a better chance to "win it all" with Rosenfels? I don't understand your opinion at all.

I can't wait for the packer/viking game. Tried to get tickets online but they cost around $1400!!! I'm a packer fan and a favre fan. Loved what he did for the team for 16 years, and will continue to support him this year with exceptions on 10/5 and 11/5. My predictions for the NFCN follows:
Lions-last place no-brainer
Bears-third place. Cutler will not live up to hype.
Vikings- second place. very close year between pack/vikes. Favre does well but gets worn down.
Packers-first place. I believe defense and rodgers will far exceed expectations.
