The Bears season is effectively over. The Vikings will probably lose two of their next three (to Phoenix and Atlanta) but it wouldn't matter. That last game of the season against the Giants looks tough on paper, but with the Giants probably having secured their division and home field advantage through out the playoffs, I'd be surprised if we saw their starters make it past the first quarter. That's going to be a must win game for the Vikes at home and they'll kill it. That will take them to 9-7, which should be enough to win this division.

The Bears will have to win out the rest of the way to have even the slimmest of chances to go to the playoffs and that's asking a lot of a team that hasn't won more than two games in a row all season.

The real question is- 1) what to do with the Bears' defense in the off season?and 2) how do we get a legit #1 receiver for Orton? I would imagine (hope) that Babich will be gone in the off season so Lovie can put the guy out of his misery and save a little face. AS far as receiver is concerned, I think that a trade or free agency would be the best. Can we gamble on a man named Plaxico?

there should be one more tie breaker.....number of players filing an injunction for using a banned substance. you lose victories based on the time of the injunction being filed and the games those players play x number of players.

i think many of the players and coaches went to watching the lions game in the third quarter. i swear i heard the tv guy sy the bears were trying to run the clock out. this with 4 min to go in the third quarter.

ah hell, its just a sport and is only entertainment and not life threatening if the home team loses.

The Vikings have 3 very tough games to close out their schedule, but don't be surprised if they go 2 - 1 for the final three games.

No way the Bears make the playoffs.

plaxico got discussed on the score the other day. concensus was the bears do not need the distraction of a personality powered player like burress.

you would hope that angelo would go for offense but he usually goes defense in the first round. minnesota certainly proves that having wall up front will keep the runner from breaking free. otoh the bears blew last weeks game by not running the no huddle and getting the wall breathing hard.

Yeah, we sure don't want a guy like Plaxico. All he did was win the Giants the Super Bowl last year by playing like a man possessed in the playoffs, especially against Green Bay, all with a bad leg.

As for the Bears and all this tiebreaker nonsense - See? THAT is why you cannot lose games the way they did against (in order of bad to worse) Carolina, Tampa, Atlanta. That Atlanta game, giving a game away with 11 seconds left, was absolutely UNACCEPTABLE for a professional team, and should've been grounds for someone getting fired.

Lovie Smith and his staff simply don't have what it takes to take this team all the way, so I don't really care what happens until a new regime is in place. They made the Super Bowl in a really weak year for the NFC (and they still almost blew the first game against Seattle), and then they had absolutely no gameplan for a very beatable Colts team in the Super Bowl that even spotted them a 7-0 lead and a quick INT.

Lovie is a loser.

Let's just admit it Bears fans. The Vikes are a much better team than our Bears. If not for a couple of gift TDs in the first meeting we lose at home. And then the Vikes kicked our a** in Minnesota. They might lose in Arizona this week, but will win the last two. The Bears suck Shainc' crank. Go Vikes. We admire you.
