Rodgers is talented, I'll concede. But with a very bad O-line in front of him, he'll continue to perfect the art of passing while lying prone on the turf.

6-10 in 2008 ...if the team is not a
winner who cares how well the QB performed....
same thing with Brees...look at his numbers
but it didn't make his team a winner.........

Yes, our field goal kicker is a key position and he's a good one (still can't figure out why he was allowed to leave toooo)... but what others are? Sharper moved on and our starting QB is an ex-Jet.

I am a Packer fan, and I can give you a couple reasons he's not a great Quarterback, but he can learn them both.

1. Not a quarterback that finishes games. Packer fans are used to Brett Favre, who didn't really perform all that well in the first half of most games (you are seeing that with the Vikings, Down to the Lions at the half, anyone?) but he could really finish a game and pull it out at the end. Last week against 49er's was an example of that. Down almost all game, pulls it out to win by 3. In Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers is the exact opposite, he comes out shooting, but burns himself out trying to make plays when the other teams defense is still fresh. As a result he is burned out in the second half and the other team is free to take the lead and finish the game.(How could he drop that game to the Bengals?)

2. Time Management. Back to the game with the Bengals. Rodgers was trying to pull off a Farve-esque 2-min comeback. Packers recover an on-side kick. They get down to the Red Zone and run out of time. With some practice he can learn to manage the clock better and could pull off a comeback like this. The fact remains that he should have been playing like that the whole second half instead of the last two minutes.

That said... Packer Fans are either going to be angry with Management tomorrow for getting rid of Favre to give Rodgers a shot, or be happy with the turnout.
And after this season Viking fans are either going to be happy that Childress and Ziggy wasted another season on another temporary answer to the QB problem because Favre got them a Super Bowl title... or they are going to be Angry when he retires after this season if he leaves the Vikings without a title and no closer to having the QB to get them there. Tonight's game will be good, no matter what.

5 reasons? I only see 4.

"4. Talented targets:"
so his receivers make him look good, that doesn't mean he is good. example culpepper.

"3. Youth:" = inexpeience

"2. Go deep: Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield agrees that Rodgers, who has great arm strength, throws the prettiest deep ball in the NFL."
Winfield is just setting the bait, waiting for bonehead Rogers to throw deep so he can get an easy pick tonight.

"1. Mental toughness:" come-on he inheritated a pretty good team, how much can a new guy ask for.

Bears are next best team (to Vikings) - Cutler is MUCH better than Karen and the numbers prove it. Bears have still a solid defence -Packers have none, but for one corner who gambles. Defense wins championships - teams without great defenses go nowhere. Just watch...

Drew Brees and his Saints are 4-0 despite two crap games by Brees the last two Sundays, proving that football it is a team game.

You really need to pay attention to what's going on in the league.

If only their two teams ever faced each other so we could get a real head-to-head comparison. Oh yeah …

This is on the Packers forum. Why is it on the Minn. one? It's about Rodgers.
