Wow! Is this Larry Lage one of Rodgers’ publicists?

“The Green Bay Packers couldn't find the end zone without Aaron Rodgers' arm to carry them.”

Considering that the Packers hadn’t scored WITH “Rodgers’ arm to carry them,” that’s pretty much a kiss-up statement, now isn’t it?

“Rodgers was 7 of 11 for 46 yards with an interception that wasn't his fault.”

While I would agree with that statement, I don’t know that I’ve seen an AP writer saying that kind of thing about any other QB this season, if ever!

Yeah, in addition to the one on the bad passes/bad decisions they make, QB’s get blamed for interceptions when receivers deflect the ball to the defenders, or fall down running routes, break off routes, or read the defense differently than the QB.

It seems unfair, to be certain – but is the AP going to begin qualifying for each game which interceptions are not the “fault” of the quarterbacks, or is this just an article written by someone with a personal interest in Rodgers or the Packers?

As a football fan, I enjoy watching Rodgers play -- he's a good one!

But I think trying to build him up when he didn't really play that well isn't necessary.

That is a true statement. Nobody claimed that Rodgers played extremely well prior to leaving the game. Rodgers is a good QB. It's no surprise that he is better than his backup, Matt Flynn. That's generally the case on football teams. The coaching staff chooses the better QB to be the starter.
