Again, I disagree with this article. The Defensive Line and Defense overall are not the weakness of this team. The Offensive Line and Offense overall is the weakness of the team. Signing Pears, Satele and Barnes helps, but it is not enough. The Raiders have an opportunity to draft OT and C in rounds 1 & 2 that will be probowl-ers for 5-10 years and that is exactly what they need. The only exception is Crabtree in Round 1 and if Crabtree is avaialable in Round 1 there is a very good chance that the top 3 OTs are off the board.

I think we have critical holes on both sides of the ball that are of equal priority to filling. Stopping the run has been a major issue since Superbowl 37 as well as our lack of offense. On another thread, UK Steve mentioned a rumor that the Raiders were looking to deal Michael Bush and a second or 3rd rounder to Cincy for Chad Johnson and I think that would be worse than the Deangelo Hall trade made last year at this time because not only are we losing a high draft pick, but we are also losing our best and most durable RB.

Agreed. I don't think Chad Johnson would work well in Oakland's plan. When Cable realizes that Bush should be the featured back (with others as change of pace), the Raiders will win more games. Cable likes Fargas' work ethic, but he has not done much as the starter except prevent the others from putting up big numbers (KC game and Tampa Bay-Fargas was hurt in both games).

The Tampa Bay game is the one that proved to me that Michael Bush was the best and most productive on the roster because not only was Fargas injured, but McFadden as well and Bush put up the best rushing performance of any of the RBs of the season in that game against a team fightning for the playoffs. McFadden had a good game against KC in week 2 but KC was a very weak team on both sides of the ball. Plus Chad Johnson is another head case that Cable wouldn't want to bring into the locker room.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Leo

You'll be action-oriented today, Leo. If truth be told, intense physical activity has the ability to soothe you much more than frenzied mental exercise. Invitations to madness are the wrong thing for you, but they are tempting nonetheless. Dig in your heels and do what you know you have to do. When driving this evening, take extra care.
