Gary Brackett

Phil B's prediction

Full story: The Indianapolis Star

It wasn't that long ago when San Diego came to the RCA Dome and ended the Colts' 13-0 run with a 26-17 victory in 2005.

It will be a good game. I think this is a great matchup. The San Diego linebackers are fast and like to blitz. I think it is key for Indy's offensive line to stop them.

Sanders and the rest of the defense will try to block the running game and take LT out early, thus, it is up to Rivers to find his receivers early and often and keep the defense honest.

The only weakness of the colts is the special teams, which we saw earlier in the year when they lost.

Either way it will be a great game. Predicting a shocking upset SD 28 Indy 21. THis one will have alot of special teams.

The guy from NE and the guy from California both predict a Colts loss. I'm shocked.

Since you two have already written off the Colts why don't you go to another site and discuss what will happen when your teams play each other

I love how these San Diego fans are talking smack on message boards everywhere on the internet after their team FINALLY wins one playoff game after 13-some years.

These Boston fans and Charger fans still haven't made one good argument how they're going to hold Peyton under 30 points now that he'll have Gonzalez, Clark, Harrison, and his two tackles Ugoh and Diem at his disposal this time around.

Agreed, if the Colts come out sharp, this game will be over quickly.

Anyone who thinks this game will be blowout by either team is fooling themselves. You can't blame Mannings 6 int on the fact that Gonzalez, Clark and Harrison were out. The Chargers have already demonstrated that if they can bring pressure from the outside they can knock Manning off his game. For the Chargers to win they will have to bring pressure early and Rivers will have to play his A game. If that happens it the game will be a toss up. As for finally winning a playoff game after 13 years with the exception of last year 2003 the Colts playoff record is as dismal as the Chargers. Who ever wins will be playing at home, because Jax is going to take down NE

And I predict the Jags will physically beat the Pats. I hope to see CheapShot Harrison make a few more attempted tackles like he did against Jacobs.

Great Article. One poor excuse after another as to why the Chargers keep beating the Shelties. Wa-WA, we wa-wa, they wa-wa!!!!!!!!!
Just get your overrated team on the field. Then you better hope to win because you've used all your excuses as to why you loose. Remember, if you loose, you get to hide in the house all winter and brood. If we loose we go back to the beach and get over it by nightfall.

Charger Fan as long as you have Felepe Rivers running your offense your going to lose. He is the most over rated over hyped player in the NFL. Why in the Hell would you Drop Drew Brees for that piece of crap. The difference between the Colts and the Chargers is we know what player to let go and what player to sign ie Jason David, Brandon Stokley...

I'll take the Colts by 17

Interesting how you think the Colts have an edge on D with the fast turf. Ummm good luck tackling LT on the turf, he will make you look silly. And the game at the Murph..If Rivers looked below average how did Manning look? 6 picks? Ugghhhh, I don't care how many players he was missing, that's horrible!

Sanders, oh yeah, he's that little guy who inexplicably was given the Defensive Player of the year Award for having essentially the same season as the Chargers third best linebacker?

Sanders
97 tackles (72 solo), 3.5 sacks and 2 INT

Wilhelm 97 tackles (74 solo), 1 sack and 3 INT

And playing on that fast track won't help the Chargers,'cause LT and their wideouts are slugs and the Bolts defense isn't fast or anything.

Jealous, are you?

FYI, linebackers are supposed to get more tackles than safeties.

And btw, The Colts’ Gary Bracket had 116 tackles, compared to your team’s #1 LB, Stephen Cooper, who had 108.

It’s also interesting that you call Wilhelm your “third best LB” when he had the second highest tackle total on your team. If you’re implying that Shawne Merriman (68 tackles) is a better defensive player than Wilhelm, who had many more tackles, then you’re admitting that tackles aren’t the whole story. Interceptions, sacks, etc. and all the rest of the stats aren’t necessarily the whole story, either.

Perhaps this article, written by impartial observers, will make Sander’s selection as the DPOY more explicable to you.

I think the chargers are the hottest team in football. They have a 6 or 7 game winning streak! Oh, wait, only one of those teams has a winnng record? Nevermind, excitement gone. "Peyton threw 6 picks. I can bet he will never do that. With a healthy line and wideouts, his options are limitless" Shawn Merriman yesterday (Wed) Peyton can be picked as many times as the D can catch the ball when you are down 20+ pts and you can drop 7 into coverage. A handicapped man could make an inteception! Not this time Ill bet.

Talk about the interceptions Manning had in last game against San Diego. Gee, their own coach doesn't even expect more than three at best this time, quote he made to paper. Colts will do fine, they are an excellent team, and as shown even the greatest quarterbacks had record interceptions. Manning is excellent and he will have no problem proving it. I definitely predict a Colts win. GO COLTS!!!!!

IF San Diego is going to beat the Colts, and that is a big IF, they are going to have to make some defensive and special teams scores.
The Chargers, who are the best team in their division, could hardly score against the Titans, who are the third best team in our division.
Without their defense holding the Titans out of the endzone, and their special teams giving them great field position, we would probably be playing JAX this Sunday.
BTW, I wouldn't be too excited about winning your division. Being the best team in the AFC West is like being the smartest kid with Down Syndrome.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Gemini

You'll need every ounce of patience today because even the best-laid plans could go up in smoke under the Full Moon lunar eclipse. It seems that certain people are doing their best to throw spanners in the works, and the more annoyed you become the more they'll goad you still further. If there's dissent in the ranks about how to spend New Year's Eve, you may decide to go your own sweet way and prove that you're an individual in your own right. But try not to let any bad feelings mar the celebrations. Have a fantastic night!
