Isn't this like a demotion? If I were him, I'd explore my options elsewhere.

The fact that no one esle picked him up should tell you he doesn't have too many other football options.

It amazes me that some of you think that if Farve was to go down. that this guy is a better option than T-Jack. exactly what hs he shown you to make you think that? Sure he has the USC history but this is the NFL. The pick Friday was not only a bad decision but a weak throw. At least T-Jack could have put some mustard on that ball.

No, I don't think Jackson is ready to start, but he maybe our second best option, and he is certainly more ready than Booty.

Way to go Clueless. No matter what happens this year I hope it is out the door for you.

The Jury is still outon Jackson, but I thinks its in on Booty. Winner from a great program, smart, but lacks the physical tools to be an NFL QB.

Seem's like he may be closer to being a Head Coach than an NFL starter.

As for Jackson, we drafted a project. Maybe he'll work out, maybe he won't. He has shown more upside than Booty, and maybe the best QB of his draft so far.(See Leinart, Vince Young) and I don't see their teams giving up on them yet.

By the way, the league T-Jack played college ball in (SWAC) also produced Walter Payton, Doug Williams, Jimmy Smith, Donald Driver, Jerry Rice, Steve McNair, Leslie Fraiser and Michael Strahan to name a few; Some Kiddie Camp!

Well, for starters I never said he was a better option than Tarvaris. In fact, I'm one of them that said that they should keep TJ.

Booty might not have to wait long, I cannot imagine the team not trading away TJack before other teams find out that one good preseason showing doesn't outweigh several years of ineptitude.

This buys the team more time to trade Jackson for a 6th round draft choice. When Jackson goes, Booty re-joins the roster.

Why would anybody want to trade for a Vikings QB?

If I were Childress I would sign USC QB coach. This guy made Booty a helluva QB in college and all thetraining he gets from pros and this guy looks like a high school QB.

If Favre goes down, Sage is the next option not tjack, and if you get down to 3rd string QB the teams in trouble, so it would have been better to keep an upbeat QB thats willing to learn, rather than a pouting Jackson

I'm not much of TJack supporter, as I think Childress has just mangled the QB position in his time here; but I'm also glad he's still on the roster instead of JDB.

Tarvaris has some skills and is a pretty great athlete, he just can't seem to wrap his head around the mental aspect or deal with pressure. I think the lights will go on eventually for him, and actually think a year behind Favre will do him some good.

I still think they end up trading him, but I rather hope not. Either way, we're riding the Favre train as far it takes us...whether thats a good or bad thing remains to be seen but it sure will be an interesting ride.

"All the other NFL teams had a chance to take over his contract but ultimately passed"

AND SOME FANS WANTED HIM SO BAD THEY HAD TO GO T-JACK BASHING!

Booty must be soo coveted as a future franchise QB that all the Monday morning
quarterback fans knew he was going to get snatch up by other teams to win a
Super Bowl.

Pathetic!

Baseless accusation,

So you base your decision on a small T.V. clip of
him on the sideline.

Pouting? you mean because he was black? or he
was picking his nose and you don't like that?
No, the guy had a GOOD not great preseason.

Stop defending Booty, nobody in the league wanted
to touch this guy.

And how did you know Booty is willing to learn?
Insider told you? and T-jack wasn't? WOW!

Look at Booty when he made that idiotic interception throw and tell me his reaction?
He looked uninterested with no urgency.

Dude,

You lost ALL credibility on this!

Keep dreaming,
we had a ton of those big time QBs
even Heisman winners and where are they
now?

Your THEORY holds no water it's full
of one sided hatred towards a QB you wanted
out and the other one you liked base on
black & white.

Find me something, anything to compare them
both in NFL situation and I'll agree.

Until then stop spewing nonsense.....O.K.

listen DUDE...tjack pouted last year when he was benched and he is not handling the Favre signing well this year , he admitted he doesnt talk to him..I am not defending Booty and you are correct nobody else picked himup , but the fact remains, we had no takers for Jackson either, even for a 6th round pick..Jackson could be released tomorrow and nobody would pick him up, not because of his color but because he isnt any good and never will be DUDE

Its a good thing that the Vikings resigned Booty. I know that he is a good QB, I saw it at USC. Its really frustrating when they cut someone who barely even had a chance to play. Then they keep someone like Jackson who has had three years to prove himself to the team and the fans and can't be seen as reliable, period. Then you look at Rosenfels who looks like he is in slow motion when he plays. It seems like he doesn't even try. Also my girlfriend can throw harder then him.
