randy moss xould got a contract just as tom brady did but no they just want this season from him. If the pats wanted to keep him they would gave him a contract but no he'll be 32 years old and yes as the coach told him watch what you say and keep your mouth shut.

I'm not happy that the Patriots are defending Moss because.... well..... because they are defending him. It doesn't matter if Randy is right or wrong. Anyone who is a parent knows that when a baby's at home you can't do everything you need to do. You can hire a babysitter but that's expensive. Look how much Tom Brady is getting paid to babysit Moss.
Bradys recent criticism of patriot fans was designed to shield his fragile receiver from his own words and the fans. During his rant Randy said, "I don't think people around here want me to succeed." This comes within a whisker of calling New Englanders prejudiced.(Even if you're right Randy do you really wanna go there?) To his credit, he quickly recovered and identified "people around here" as the press.
By criticizing the fans Brady was offering his friend moral support ie; some people around here don't want ME to succeed either. It also deflects criticism away from Moss. The timing of Brady's remark and its suspiciously uncharacteristic nature left me with no other interpretation.
The problem is Randy's verbal high wire act has got the entire organization walking on eggshells. Brady is shielding Moss the same way Larry Bird shielded Dennis Johnson. The only difference is the Celtics couldn't win without DJ and DJ exercised self-control. Randy was great the first year but he's been dropping off. Brady shouldn't be taking hits for his teammates unless their names are Wilfork or Welker. Randy's not a bad guy and his remarks are not a big deal to me, but creating a winning football team is incredibly difficult - especially with a lockout looming. The only thing Randy is building is more tension.
