You need a yard? How about Dusty? He looks to be about as mean as Hampton.

Hey Lovie, need a yard? How about the QUARTERBACK SNEAK! It's the most effective way to get a yard in football, but Lovie never uses it. I sure hope the '9ers give up on Samurai Mike so we can get him.

You really want a coach like Singletary? I don't think he'll work out here. I don't think he'll work out anywhere honestly. It's one thing to be aggressive but it's another thing to be just way over the top. His style of coaching doesn't exist in this league anymore. And I don't any of todays players would respond to him.

You are a sad person. This is why people request that you keep politics out of this post. If you look to the right of this page, I'm sure you'll find another place to spew your garbage.

Moving on....
I think Charles Tillman will make a really good safety in a couple of years. He seems to have good instincts and can tackle. I would prefer him to put on a little more muscle for that position but the skills are already there.

And on short yardage, I agree with everybody else. Dusty seems like a guy you can put in on short yardage plays. And yes, that would be good football theater.

Why not Urlacher on offense for special occasions?
After all in high school and college he played both sides of the ball quite successfully. I've long thought he should be put in as an extra receiver, for example.

Here's a quote I just read from Briggs. In your opinion. is he just saying the right thing or does he mean this?

“I think that Bob has called some great games, and if we were able to execute all the plays that Bob signaled in, we’d be successful,” Briggs said.

“There are reasons why he calls some of the plays that he calls. If we don’t execute on those plays and we’re not successful on those plays … sometimes we’re taking a chance and if you’re not successful on taking a chance, a risk, you’re going to get hurt.

Yeah... maybe he could do that well. He sure doesn't provide a push up the middle on defense.

He puts on too much of that football-knucklehead front, but doesn't have near the talent to back it up!

Quill pointed out Lovie was backing Obama because they have something in common. He(or she)ir right. Just like almost everyone who posts comments on this fantastic forum, what we have in common is a deep love for Chicago Bears Football. Corner to safety? Uh, Mr.Haugh? Can you "slide" over to the astrology section? Maybe it's not as easy as you say. Short yardage? How about using a big back up o-lineman instead? Maybe Chris Williams, to start getting him acclimated to the feel of the NFL. Mike Brown in a slump? How about the feeling of pride and hope I feel when he makes it through another game after the injuries he's had? Remember fans, when Brown and Urlacher were rookies? Remember how much fun they were having
as they grew into being the future of this team? If not, look back, remember, and appreciate.

we don't need another saftey just yet...we need a line-backer to replace Urlacher who could easily play saftey and strike fear into the hearts of all tight-ends and wide recievers, who in their right mind would want to play slot-reciever? let Graham take over Vasher's spot and if you want a defensive guy to do some short yardage, i suggest Idonije...who in the heck is gonna stop him from getting one yard?

Deferring to the second half is a great luxury the Bears never had before. The fact is, their defense has spent a lot of time on the field the last few years, mainly because the offense hasn't been that good. Everyone's rested to start the game, but with a very short halftime, if the defense finished the first half on the field, they're not much better rested to start the 2nd half (and if you go back into the record books, you'll see a lot of scoring drives given up by the Bears to start the 3rd quarter). Why not guarantee that the D will be fresh, and let them get a good solid 20 minutes rest, rather than throw them back out on that field.

The Bears defense needs whatever rest it can get in the middle of the game. It's been lack of being able to finish at the end of games that has cost the Bears...not an early score by the other team. I think deferring is the right move for this team, not because their defense is so great (it's not), but because their defense tends to spend way too much time on the field. Getting them as much intermediate rest as possible may be the difference between giving up a long drive at the end, versus picking off a pass and taking a knee (way to go Zack Bowman!!!).

Oh, and move Dre Bly over to Nickelback while Manning is out. Don't waste him like we did the other DBs we signed and then ignored (Ricky Manning, Chris Harris, Dante Wesley). We have an opening, and there's a guy who's got some corner skills and some safety skills - put him at Nickel.

Anyone else sensing a GB upset over TN? Titans on the short week and GB coming off the bye...think TN gets their first loss here. Hope I'm wrong. Go Bears and Tight-ones (this week).

Nah, I want them to destroy the Packers so that when we play them, we can be the ones to give them their first loss. That would be a huge win for us regardless but I just want to be the ones to beat them first. What many don't is they run Cover 2 a lot. That's a defense that Kyle is very familiar with. He should be able to pick them apart. But let's get this win first before go in on the Titans.
