“If he isn't being allowed to practice, there is no way he can compete”
The Dolphins waived troubled defensive lineman Fred Evans on Thursday as the organization carried out coach Cam Cameron's vow that the situation would 'be dealt with seriously.'
Evans' release comes after his arrest early Saturday morning on Miami Beach, where he was charged with battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and trespassing.
A seventh-round draft choice in 2006, Evans was already serving a year's probation in Texas for possession of marijuana at the time of Saturday's arrest. The Texas case was resolved June 6. Read more
