With two picks in the first round of the NFL draft, the Minnesota Vikings are poised to benefit from the potential anxiety of other teams if they're willing to be patient again.

Vikes need M linebacker, Corner, DT, and Reciever with two of their first round picks. They don't need to trade up but take the best available that slips down to their spots and take the best available at any of those four positions. Then fill the other two positions in the 2nd and 3rd rounds taking best available to fill those two picks. If they haven't filled the corner spot yet at their pick in the 3rd round, they could use that pick on Tyranne Mathieu who might be the best talent in the draft at any position and has the potential to be the best corner in football. Follow that up with a running back who excells at catching the ball out of the backfield and has good speed and it fill a hole for those third and long situations. Follow that up with another reciever and it will be a good draft for the Vikes. Hags

Agreed on BPA but Speilman wants to wheel and deal to get more picks so I think he moves back if the opportunity is available to get at least another third round selection. Mathieu is very immature and a problem waiting to happen. We might have taken him in the middle rounds but his latest stunt about the draft party has moved him off a lot of boards and if he gets drafted it will be in round 6 or 7. I hope we don't get Teo. He's a two down back and an average MLB. We would do better with Arthur Brown. Have him put on about 10lbs of muscle and he would be a beast. Teo is about the same height but 15 lbs heavier and 2/10 of a second slower. He had weight problems until this year and if he adds more weight he will be really slow. He's a second round talent at best. I really don't care who we draft in the first so long as it's not Teo.

I read an article on this...seems as if the Vikings, being a young team, does not have that many open positions. Meaning that quality, not quanity, is their objective. 4 areas of need, 11 picks, including 2 in the 1st? I hope Spielman concentrates on the quality aspect instead of "camp bodies". Stockpile and use picks in rds 1 thru 3, using later rd draft picks as trading ammo. Oh, and Brown. Good player, but better outside. Not sure he has the body for MLB.

Agreed Brown is probably a bit small to play MLB but he can add weight. If not,he would be the best OLB on the team including Chad Greenway.
