Is Vikings' Visanthe Shiancoe seeking new deal?

Minnesota Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe is coming off the best season of his career, but he's working out this summer as though he still has a lot to prove.

I cant see The VIKES giving a new contract to Shiancoe Not with rice contract coming up & a few others on the team I just dont think they will with two years to go on his still & so many others coming Next year Not that i dont think hes worth it he is but so are the others on the team . Shiancoe is an interesting guy but nothing more than an average pass-catching TE - he would be easy to replace. Everyone knows Favre is the reason Shiancoe had a career year. Mike Tice could probably come back and catch a dozen TDs if he had #4 hitting him between the numbers all season long.

I don't know about that, homey. He did pretty good in 2008 too, even with 2 lesser QB's throwing the ball.

Yeah, but it's OK. They're looking at using him to replace McKinnie at LT when his contract is up. That would give Russell two years to raise his weight from 300 pounds up to an acceptable 335. He'll have that locked up by midseason...

I know Russell has a bad work ethic & was always overweight But he was with The Raiders Poor guy had 3 coaches the time he was there none was any good & not a WR or TE to speek of What Russell needed was some coaching You cant just tell someone to do sometihng & not show them how Russell can make any throw on the field also Russell looked so good at the combine If he can keep his weight down & better coaching with & a front line he mite be ok I am not saying The VIKES should pick him up but it cant hurt to look if he shows he is willing to put more time in on his work ethic & lose weight Why not ask him into camp for a look. The VIKEs do have a better Front line & WRs & TE . The reason ESPN is talking about Russell is dennis Green is coaching him now & they need a story & being ESPN they made one up .>>> GO VIKINGS

Are you serious? He's been one of the top receiving Tight Ends in football the past 3 seasons. Having Favre last year helped put him over the top, but he put up great numbers with T-Bone Jackson and Head-Butt Frerotte throwing him the ball before that.

The Vikings are in a tough situation until they get this stadium deal done.I hope they settle the cba settled cause a strike would be the worst thing.
