"The referees posed a bigger challenge to USC on Saturday night at the Coliseum than Washington State."

Nice spin in your leading sentence.

How about, "USC posed a bigger challenge to itself on Saturday night at the Coliseum than Washington State."

Don't blame poor play and subpar coaching on the refs.

I have a sneaky feeling that there will be a number of Trojan players doing some extra running... a lot of extra running this week.

Those penalties will come to hunt them in the months of October and November. They just played the doormat of the PAC-10, and they did not even blow them up. They did not even control the clock. Here come the heavies. They played so bad that even Carroll was stuttering. Hmm, I thought, "Cheater" Carroll was a defensice mastermind, I guess not. I guess the defensive mastermind is now at Washington.

I don't think that Harbaugh is trembling in his loafers.

Something is wrong; the Trojans haven't played well in 3 games. When Corp comes in loosen the leash or take him off of it. If we play like we have its going to be a rough October.

Sorry, but USC is not impressive at all, their #7 ranking is a joke, Cal is also a joke, Washington is a joke...LSU is a joke. When Call ans USC it should be called "the joke bowl"

USC effect
Washington, which upset USC last week, lost to Stanford 34-14 Saturday night.
What's the "USC effect"?

WSU Cougs are generally perpetually the underdog (like the colonists against King George - fat & pompus like the bigger-$ schools in Pac10). WSU has perhaps only 10% to 20% of the revenue-fan-base market of the big California schools & UW-dogs; has likely only 60%-70% of the student/alumni population of those schools; etc.. UW pays the USC transplant coach $2mil/year; the Cougs can only afford less than half that for its couch. Yet Coach Mike Price built a team over a few years into a Pac10 powerhouse with 3 10-win seasons in a 4-year span I believe - then left for the money.
Now WSU has a 2nd year coach, building a team. It may take another 2 or 3 years, but don't be alarmed then when such a Pac10 "doormat" is making y'all eat your own narscisistic, boated, high-on-the-hog filth. GO WAZZU!

Hey Rob - I'll agree that LSU hasn't looked that good, and barely squeaked by Georgia today, but don't insult them by putting them in the same sentence with Pac-10 teams. And I don't accept the fact that Washington upset USC. I won money on that one knowing that USC couldn't beat the spread. USC routinely gets "upset"

Thanks T-Town. The SEC action is fierce so far. Things are about to get really tough for LSU

The pac-ten is a better conference then the overated media hyped Sec! Be very grateful there is not a playoff format in College Football the pac-ten would of won so many more championships!
