Villaume: Tightening of the Purple Belt

"The Vikings as of a day ago were still five million dollars over the proposed cap."
Gee Louis, sound like the Vikings are underwater. This team is a good old Viking shipwreck. But I notice you didn't mention the hit to the payroll Brett Favre made. Like 13 million wasn't enough. The Vikings up'd that to close to 18 something to lure him back for the second year. Masterful. It's management decisions like that which put the Vikings in their situation. When all is said and done the Vikings will look like a bad college team. And no, not all NFL teams are in this bind. Just the foolish ones.
You know the feeling when you buy the big screen with the plastic card and, standing there, you tell yourself I'll figure how to pay for it later? Then later arrives and the statement comes. That's where the Vikings are at Louis. They're "figuring" out how to actually pay for that big screen.

Why do the Eagles ALWAYS seem to have money to sign the following? What quality receivers do we have to beat them?
One day after acquiring two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie from Arizona, the Eagles stunned the NFL world by landing Asomugha, a two-time All-Pro.
Asomugha and Rodgers-Cromartie will team up with Asante Samuel, a four-time Pro Bowl pick, to form probably the best cover secondary in the league.
